Hah, I'd forgotten about that. Photography is an important part of my fieldwork, so I had to trade up. The lack of distance with the box brownie and your subject made it less than ideal with venomous snakes....

thought I would post some pics of my completed (or at least so far) Shanghai outfit since I just got in my tetburys. Been wearing these for a week now and man are they awesome.
Cant buy a jumper (already have v neck sweaters in green, grey and blue. Really dont wanna go out and buy black lol)
BR peacoat
Hugo Boss Black Label Shirt and Tie
Zara Alternative Pants
C&J Tetburys
Dents Gloves
left my Markos in the car so they aint in the photo...
i have shoe trees, just took em out for the pic. Remember, I have been using these almost constantly for about a week now and they do develop creases naturally because the leather is so supple. But dont worry, when they are not in use they got cedar shoe trees inside placed inside their respective shoe bags.
Keep in mind, a lot of these items are close to the bespoke catagory and not meant for everyday use.
Retunington, it looks like they are well kept but I wouldn't wear them everyday.
imo.
H
if they are treated right, common, reoccuring usage should be fine.
I dont baby my stuff. And i dont think Bond would either lol (look at Craig's Islays)
,but i do respect it. And besides, whats the point of buying stuff if you dont wear it?
I am with you on the wearing stuff...I remember waaaay back owning an expensive pair of shoes that never saw the light of day...then a shoe store owner told me that shoes become better with age and just wear them! And of course he was right. But at least a day break in between wearings is what I go for, with shoe trees put in etc... Wear them well my friend, especially on trains!

+1 to this. My first "nice" pair of shoes was a pair of Allen Edmonds black Park Avenues. I had them (and others) for a looooong time before I finally realized that I needed to start wearing them...haven't looked back since.
Looks good! Please get some shoe trees in those C&Js...
yes,i agree and not those crappy plastic/aluminium ones either
i still have my C+J suede loafers i purchased in 1986 all treed up
i think the trees are French cedar
Use tissue paper in the toe area if you don't have trees. Cheap alternative that I use.
Tissue paper is good for drawing out moisture, but it doesn't prevent creases like shoe trees do. Spending $25 on shoe trees is very little compared to the cost of good shoes. I prefer unpolished shoe trees because they absorb moisture, and cedar is good because of the smell.

Shoe trees have certainly come down in cost of late. -{ Tissue can be effective if you shape it and have enough of the free stuff, but I will have to investigate whether its $500 on more Crocketts or a load of trees. Cheers.
Dont wait for your ship to come in. Swim out and meet the bloody thing.
Personllay I think if your dropping that much on shoes you should be spending the money on tree's to preserve them! I like to buy shoe trees from the manufacturer of the shoe but this is a good idea where C&J is concerned because their shoe tree's are lasted so they fit the shoe perfectly.

I got a ton of quality shoe trees at $15 a piece online. Do you really have over 30 pairs of shoes? If you have that many shoes, trees are definitely the better investment. If you don't have that many shoes, you won't be spending nearly as much on trees.
Decided to go budget QoS on Saturday.
JFerrar polo from JC Penneys, $15
Levi's 514 in tumbled rigid blue, $35
Harrington copy from Eddie Bauer, $20
Clarks Desert Boots from Amazon, $65
And of course I always have my PPS. Just got in the Vega IWB holster used in CR. Very comfy, though the leather is thin. Longevity may be a problem.
