Moore is pissed off in TMWTGG

I'm working my way through re-watching all the bond films (yet again :)) ), but this time I'm doing it in order.

I've just finished watching TMWTGG and I noticed something in particular - Moore seems quite angry and pissed off more than usual throughout this film - anyone else notice this?

I'd be pissed off too with someone like Goodnight at my side 24/7 :# I've never really noticed Bond being overly angry in this one, other than the bit when he interrogates Maud Adams in the hotel room. I'll have to watch it again and look out for other examples. What parts of the film did you notice this, or was it just his acting in the whole?

I never noticed it until watching it this time round.

    Examples were:
    - When he was trying to get Q to identify the bullet
    - Telling goodnight to move her car out the way
    - He kept moaning about some brand of wine
    - The Maud adams scene as you mentioned

I guess these things could be explained by him being nervous about possible assassination by scaramanga, but in other films bond would usually plays it cool all the time... But either way, no excuse for his moaning about the wine lol

Perhaps Moore was asked to play Bond a bit more like Connery had after his LALD performance (which I thought was perfectly good). It seems to me that's the only reason they would have written in to have Moore be violent towards Adams. The wine thing maybe just to reiterate the class of Connery through Moore what with the whole scene in Goldfinger about not drinking champagne at a certain temperature.
And the goodnight in the car thing just..women drivers 8-)

I remember reading a review of TMWTGG saying that everyone seemed
angry or "Pissed off " in it. Along with Bond, M seemed annoyed and
    Q was very irritable. :))

Wow I think that's right! I haven't watched the movie in a while though.... but wasn't Moneypenny a bit grumpy too? Lol strange. Guess this one wins for the "grumpiest" Bond film.

That was Hardyboy's thread, 'Cranky, oh so cranky!' some years back.

Where is HB's review of Skyfall? ?:)

Anyone who wants to see Rog really angry should check out The Wild Geese.

The scene where he forces a dealer to eat heroin is terrific.

I just saw it again recently and was bugged by the fact that the scene wasn't Rog as 007. A few more scenes like this with Rog and Bond fans would be doing somersaults of happiness.

"You're mad. Do you know that?"
    "Yes. Isn't everyone?"

I agree since he showed he had potential after FYEO (which got squandered in Octopussy), but Moore has nobody to blame, but himself for his farce run.

Wild geese, great movie, Moore should have defiently played Bond like that, like he's got something shoved up his ***.
And with TMWTGG, he was probably still getting over Solitare :D damn fine lady
