Spoilers: Moments from the trailers/spots that didn't make the cut.

I don't know about you, but I was certain there were a few shots and lines from the trailers and TV spots that apparently didn't make the final cut. I understand this is entirely routine in the movie business, and that the ad house doing the promo material has no way of knowing one way or another, but I was wondering if anyone else caught this as well...

Omissions that I caught:

- A shot of Bond going for an early morning jog along a row of park benches.

- A shot of Bond storming into the parliamentary hearing hall firing his gun and reloading as the camera dollies in under him.

- A witty and rather memorable exchange between M and Mallory: "Do you have any word on Bond?" "He's somewhere in the South China Sea." "That's it?" "Well, when you've worked with Bond as long as I have, you'll realize that 'somewhere in the South China Sea' is precise intelligence." (I was surprised to see this line go, as I thought it was pretty classic, and they had built an entire 30 second TV Spot around it called "Word".)

- There are also a number of lines by Bond and Silva whose deliveries seemed different in the film, suggesting they went with a different take. The most memorable one I can think of is Bond saying, "All there is." after Severine asks him how much he knows about fear. It's a very somber delivery in the trailer, but a bit more sardonic in the film. Maybe it's just me.

Those are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head.

The swimming scene was cut down a lot from the trailer as well.
and the slowmotion villain falling shot in Shanghai is also mising.

I'm sure there's some shots of the DB5 missing.

There's also M's line of "what do you say about a man like that?" missing as she writes his obituary.

I'm sure in the trailer Bond says "trust me" to Eve before turning the Land Rover in to the black Audi in the PTS. Didn't make the film.

The jogging scene omission was a pity IMO, as we could have seen an angle 'behind the character', with Bond getting himself on the way back to some sort of fitness.

Maybe they took out the jogging scene to "de-Rocky" the film! With his pullups, situps also maybe jogging would have been too much Stallone lol

There's also that shot of severine walking along with the bodyguards in tow, shanghai mall, airport, office block? Either way, it got cut out.

Completely forgot about that one. Seems odd that it didn't make the final cut, as I'm pretty sure this image was one of the early promo photos that got released. Is this a usual ploy?

There was a scene shot on the escalators which was shown in one of the early videoblogs, if my memory is correct. Severine and bodyguards are on the down escalator, she is holding a case in her right hand between the escalators, a man (Patrice?) on the up escalator takes it off her. Not an accident but a deliberate and planned switch.

I'm guessing the Case had his Gun and Casino chip. Cut for running time I suppose.
Although I love to see a Longer version of Skyfall, Hopefully on the Blu-ray We'll
get to see some extras. :)

Shame. I think keeping the handoff at the Shanghai airport would have grounded that segment of the film, and Severine's involvement in the plot, quite a bit. Which was needed, IMO.

^^ Fully agree. Would definitely have added to Severine's involvement in the film & would have certainly tied the 2 characters together.

I was looking forward to the slow motion shot of Patrice falling from the building in shanghai. I was disappointed when he slammed off the side of the building and spun away :#

To be fair, had they shown her to be a nastier type who had set this bloke up to die, then we would mourn her later demise less, + Bond's inability to save her, and care less about his cutting joke after, bluff or not. As it was, the whole set up sort of lost me, so not sure what she was doing looking across at Bond between the skyscrapers, sort of got the feeling she was grateful she had saved her, when in fact he had scuppered her assassination plot (which made no sense anyway).

There's at least one shot from Twitter that didn't make the cut. It was the row of Martini glasses. Looks like it was early in the movie, possibly when Bond was "enjoying death" It was scene 59A, which was before the Casino scenes. This was scene 72F http://ow.ly/i/zu6H Sorry the Martini glasses picture isn't available anymore. Only a handful of the twitter pictures are still available.

No-one mourned that devil-eyed B&"£h, not even Bond.

Sigh... well no one in the film did, but I felt sorry for her, having been coerced into the sex trade from an early age, and forced to do the bidding of an evil svengali. Still, women eh? 8-)

With all these scenes, I hope there will be an extended version for Blu-Ray as I think I've already seen mentioned here.

You're assuming everything Severine said was true. She appeared to be a sociopath, so she may have been lying.

Apparently, a funeral scene (for the dead MI-6 personnel) was filmed. I remember there was some controversy about it at the time. Obviously, it didn't make the final cut.

Seems like I remember an early picture of a Union Jack draped coffin in the back of a vehicle. Not sure if I'll be able to find the picture.

I don't think she said it. She had a tattoo on her wrist and Bond figured it out. Maybe I'm mistaken though.

I think the scene was Bond getting to take a woman onto his team as he once did with Vesper on the train. He was judging everything he could about her, but it turns out she really needed him because she wasn't as strong as she was supposed to be. Bond came to the conclusion that she was a scared prisoner of the sex trade, and someone powerful that he needed to meet.
