Skyfall sizing guide

Hey gents. What do you think of this idea? With so many people asking about correct sizing I thought we could try to compile the info into 1 thread. So feel free to leave a comment with your weight, height, waist, chest, suit size, normal shoe size (whatever you're comfortable with), and then list what size you have in any of the Skyfall items and how it fits (Barbour, Levi, Acne, Allsaint, COS, C&J, N Peal, John Smedley, Adidas...)

Get a new item? Just edit your post.

I'll start:
160lbs, 36-38 chest, 5'9.5", 30-32 waist

Levi - S fits perfectly
Barbour - S was too tight until I had the back "let out", may get a M and try shrinking it slightly
Billy Reid - S and M ordered, both fit. S fits better.
PTI jacket - S fit fine, but I got an XS and it fit better
Acne pants - IT46 (30 US) fit in waist but thighs are tight. 38 fit great with tabs buttoned.
Orlebar - 30. True to size.
COS shirt - 15 slim fit, but too tight in forearms. 15.5 (39) fit perfectly.
Smedley - S tight but comfortable fit
N Peal - S and XS ordered. Waiting to arrive.

Other items haven't arrived or I haven't tried them on yet...

Great idea!!!!! Guess this would have been ideal a long time ago lol

    210lbs (95kg), 43" Chest, 36" waist, height approx 6ft

Levis LVC Jacket XL. Not as fitted as would like but next size down a no go

Billy Reid Peacoat. XXL. Very fitted around chest, prob perfect except tight around biceps however I do workout arms a lot in gym.

Barbour Sports Jacket XXL. Was concerned about ordering this in XXL but glad I did. Jacket is designed to be very narrow shoulder/upper back hence thus is perfect fit. Bit "flappy" at bottom of jacket but believe supposed to be like this.

Acne Wall St Grey Shark Skin Trousers (Shanghai). IT52. Forget it, too small and very slim. Size IT54 on the way, will update in due course!!!

Orlebar Setters. Size 36. Perfect and true to size

    Smedley Bobby. XL. Fitted. Perfect!!

Yeah, looking like it might be too little too late. Hopefully more will chime in though.

Hate to bump my own thread like this, but does anyone have a Smedley, All Saint Henley, and N. Peal that fit them well?

6'3", 235 with a 46 inch chest and 38 waist. Broad shoulders keep me in a 48 jacket though.

I don't think a single item gets big enough. X-(

I have a good tailor who can copy anything though. Now where do I get waxed cotton fabric?

I think this post helps out a good amount, but people should still be very cautious. I'm pretty much same size as redsleighdown; 6 FT, 157 lbs, mostly size 38's (chest measures 38.5), size 30-31 in most pants/jeans, and I'm a medium in the Barbour and would be a medium in the Billy Reid coat and based on measurements a small in the LVC jacket. I actually tried the Barbour on, and it fit properly to me. I think a lot of the problem is people have different takes on how tight or loose something should fit, and that's where the discrepancy is.

Someone who has the EXACT same measurements as me, weight etc that puts on the same size jacket may not like how it fits due to preference. That's what really needs to be taken into account when purchasing clothes. On this form, there is a BIG opinion on how clothes should fit, and I think sometimes people need to take a step back and think what works best for their personal sizing, and how they feel something should fit. A perfect example is how the suits fit DC in Skyfall. I personally think they fit him perfectly. Very slim fit, tailored. That's my preference, but as you read in that thread, a lot of people aren't down with that. Again, personal preference plays a massive role when it comes to sizing of clothing.

    6 2'1/2" 230 lbs. 44" Chest, 55" shoulders (broad shoulders), and a 38" Waist.

Levis LVS Jacket: (L) - I ordered both sizes for reference and opted for the large over the XL. I was concerned that it may be too tight, but it gives when worn a few time.

Billy Reid Bond Peacoat.: (XXL) - Thanks to Graham and David's recommendations, I chose the XXL, and I'm glad I did. Very fitted.

Barbour X To Ki To Beacon Heritage Sports Jacket: (XXL) - Originally tracked down the XL from J.Crew, but it was very tight around the shoulders. Opted for the XXL, and it's a much better fit!

Acne Wall Street Trousers: (it54) - Very, very fitted. For those of you that have purchased the Iggy pants from AS, these trousers fit almost identical.

Orlebar Brown Setter in Sky: (38) - Great fit

Allsaints Spitalfields Iggy Cords: (36) - Largest size that they make, so I purchased it. Very, very fitted with my athletic build.

Allsaints Spitalfields Burnett Henley: (XXL) - Again, very form fitted. The majority of AS clothing is.

Crockett & Jones Shoes: Size (11) - I normally wear a 12 in Cole Haan or Nike, and a 10.5 in Tods...for reference. For anyone that has not purchased them yet, these are hands down some of the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. I own John Lobbs as well.

Will post a follow up after additional items have been acquired!

We're pretty close in build and I opted for the XXL in the Barbour. It may work for you.

Just got my COS shirts in (15 and 15.5). To my COMPLETE surprise, the 15 didn't fit... In the forearms! Yeah, I am a drummer so may have slightly muscular forearms but jeez, that was a shock.

Guys, I discovered this site a little while ago and it is a great resource. I was hoping someone could help me. I am looking to buy the Levi's Vintage Leather jacket in Skyfall, but don't know what size I am.

I am 6'4'', 205 llbs and a 36-38 waist. I can't decide if I should go with the large or the XL.

    Does anyone have any advice?

    Thanks so much!

I have to check on that. I am not 100% sure. Probably around 44.

    I'm 43, 36 waist and around 210 pounds.

I have a XL but there is still a bit of play in th chest hence a L might give me a more fitted jacket however a risk it could be too tight. Hopefully I will try a L soon

Hope that is some help (prob not). All these Skyfall jackets are all experimentation in my experience (sadly) and people with same stats on here seem to have different opinions and sizes.

My advice is to pick a L or XL up if you get the chance, your guaranteed to get your money back regardless

Thanks for your help. I am going to get an exact sizing on my chest and go from there. Being 6'4'', I always assume I need an XL in everything but it sounds like I might not for this jacket. It probably looks better if it is a little fitted.

How is the length on you?

The length is ok, sleeves are long but I believe every size is like that!

Its just the chest and waist area that bugs me, could be brought in a bit hence why I will try a L however that may be too small and its a case of being somewhere in between sizes!!!

I think I'm actually closer to a 46 chest. Maybe go with the XL?

Hey, im new to the forum! Great idea btw! could have used this a while back as well! ha

redsleighdown, did you get Barbour to let out the lodge jacket? Mine fits great, just a little tight in across the shoulders hence the question!

(btw, im just shy of 6ft, around 90Kg, 41in chest, but broad shouldered and the large fits well, except slightly tight on the shoulders for anyone wanting advice)

So, I'm watching an Academy screener of Skyfall last night, and his jacket never looks that fitted on him. Shoulders start just past his and in the bar scene it looks rather baggy

Guys, a little help would be appreciated. Just received a large of the Levi's. Do you think I should return for XL or keep it? It is close.

Looks right. Not too loose, not too tight.

Wow.... You must be very tall! I'm 1.89 in my socks and the large is very long in the sleeves. It's all very subjective mate but I don't think the xl will fit better. It will only be slightly longer but much bigger in the chest and middle. The large looks a tad short but I wouldn't recommend a swap with an xl. It may be worth messaging welshboy78 he has had the jacket in both sizes! I've sold my large and have a pre order medium with bench and loom. If that doesn't fit right ill pass that on too. I think for the money you have to be 100% happy with it!

Yup I've just gone from an XL to a L - BIG DIFFERENCE! I've gone from a jacket that was too baggy to a jacket that is fitted (I'm 43 chest, 36W and around 6 ft height)

My personal opinion is that the XL will be like a tent on you - it's significantly bigger!!!

Unless your Large is too tight and uncomfortable to wear I would stick with the Large

Thanks for all the replies! I am pretty tall. Not sure what the conversion is but I am 6 feet 4 inches in height.

It does fit right basically everywhere but I would like it to be a tiny bit longer. I think I am going to stick with this one as I am planning on losing a little weight and don't think the extra length in the jacket is worth it. I have gotten used to things not fitting perfectly because of my height. The shirt I had on in the pic is a little long fyi.

I see you mentioned you had your Sports Jacket let out a bit. How did you get that done? By Barbour? And where did they take the material from? I'm finding the back of my L far too boxy, restricting movement of the arms, but I think if I were to size up it would be much too big in the shoulders...

    Thanks in advance

Ended up letting the sides out by Barbour to help "unrestrict" movement.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I've cut and pasted the below from my reply to another thread. Sound right?

I've taken it to a good alteration tailor today, and they are letting out the lining of the jacket around the back and the shoulders. There's a bit to let out there already, and while they'll have to add a bit of black lining in places it's a decent trade for a jacket that doesn't pinch. The actual frame of the jacket seems to fit fine already. Crucially, I don't have to worry about them altering the look of the actual jacket. I get it back on Friday so I'll report back.

Quick question guys. Would you recommend getting the Bobby and the N. Peal in the same size. Based on the sizes on their websites, it looks pretty close to me. I was going to go XL with both of them.

    Thanks!
