When Dominic Greene meets general medrano to sign the contracts, he's eating an apple. Just curious, but why did they even add this in? Why did the director or whoever suggest that Dominic Greene eat an apple? What would it add and what's the purpose of it?

Perhaps it's meant to put General Medrano at ease, namely to imply that whatever Medrano is going to sign is just some small informality that he need not think carefully about, therefore making it that much easier for Greene and Quantum to put the squeeze on him.
