I need to find a decent shop here in Tokyo selling them for a decent price (the GBP - yen exchange rate is prohibitively expensive right now).
Would you guys recommend saving for a brand new one from a dealer, or to check out the used market (in stores here, they have what look like new Omegas, but at 80% retail price as they're no longer new).
Obviously I would want the box and warranty cards.

Martini, I would personally buy a used one from a known source. The first owner has already taken a financial hit on it. Buy at the right price and you will made a bit of cash on it if you feel like a change in a year or two. I have had the 45mm PO, really enjoyed it,but sold it after a 2 years or so. I just recently bought the smaller PO . Its all personal opinion, and although my wrists are fairly large, I think the smaller version is a bit more versatile. Its only something like 3.5mm smaller, but looks good on rubber but also fine on the bracelet with a suit. The 45mm wears very big on a bracelet, but feels smaller on the rubber. As I say, personal choice, but I would look out for a good used 42mm PO, on a bracelet ( pick the rubber strap up afterwards) with box and cards etc.
Thanks for your input, BRIXMIS. The 45mm sounds like "more bang for buck", but I will have to try both to see. 42mm isn't exactly a small watch! The versatility would be great.
The problem is, which PO to go for? The one from Quantum, or a small version of the one from Casino Royale... which did you go for?

You are right, 42mm would have been considered a large watch 20 years ago. Its a good size today and on my nearly 8 inch wrist it looks perfect IMO. I really enjoyed the 45mm, but the 42mm is just that little bit more versatile, I think
Anyone looking for this watch should contact Jim at Continental Jewelers in Washington DC +1 (202) 833-3366 he is an authorized dealer and offers the best pricing, I have bought all my Omegas from him over the years.
The MSRP on this watch is $5500 and our price $4125 + Shipping
After few weeks of thinking I made up my mind and ordered the 38,5 mm blue bezel AT. As it is a fresh release I have to wait it 4 to 6 week do be delivered. However I've got 23% of the retail price so not bad IMO. According to the Omega CEO this watch belongs to DC and it was his decision to wear this model as well as the official PO in the movie. I think the AT was a legacy from The girl with the dragon tattoo. In that movie DC wore it with black croco strap.

Now it's a toss up between the Casino Royale and the Quantum of Solace.... hmmm... I think I can pull of the 45mm casing.
Does anyone have both, with photos comparing?
