New SkyFall Discovery: Floris 89 Shaving Bowl
The Bond Experience
Newtown, PAPosts: 5,490Quartermasters
Folks, wanted to share with you a recent "confirmation" from Floris and their marketing director, Edward Bodenham. As you can see from the below email he acknowledges this but cannot post on their site OR market it due to the PAID product endorsements. BUT that doesn't stop consumers and fans like us spreading the word. Also on my site, www.thebondexperience.com, you can now see my interview with Edward on Bond's connection to Floris 89 and even some interesting information regarding Daniel Craig....by the way, the correct bowl and cream is available via the web sites Bond shop.
Here is the email from Edward:
Dear David,
Thank you very much for your email.
It was such a pleasure to meet you and I am pleased to hear that the video looks good. Thank you again for featuring Floris as part of the Bond Experience.
Yes, apparently our No.89 Shaving Soap Bowl was used in the filming of Skyfall, but for the time being we are unable to officially confirm this because of the tight restrictions placed by the main sponsors on product endorsements.
Please let me know if there is anything else that I can help with.
Best wishes,
Edward.

Now I feel like I have to pull the trigger, so to speak.
Was it the wooden floris 89 shaving bowl and have we managed to confirm the cut throat razor yet
Ross
Well, Bond has been known to use George F. Trumper grooming supplies. So my guess, although unconfirmed, is it's from here:

Check the open razors and strop page.

yep, i think that's it.
Very nice and well worth the money! (Kent Bowl, by the way, Floris soap!)
As for the brush, looking at the spread it's certainly badger hair as opposed to Boar or synthetic material and it has a black handle judging by the image below.
Could be a Kent, like mine. Possibly an Edwin Jagger, but many possibilities though and hard to make an educated suggestion from the few shots we have.
PS: Before anyone asks, I took these pictures on my phone, in the cinema! I'm not turning them in to canvass art and making a mint, nor have I pirated the movie. (Shiver 'me timbers, etc)
Perhaps the brush is something like this; http://www.blackandbrown.net/product/BLK12/Kent+Brushes+King+Sized+Silver-tipped+Badger+Shaving+Brush+%28black%29.
There are different grades of Badger hair, depending on where on the badger they take it from. Better brushes make a smoother and more comfortable lather. If you prefer not to use animal products, then go for a synthetic, which is slightly cheaper and does a similar job.

Wilde
