A friend and I were talking about this the other day. Now that Skyfall is being highly successful in the box office, is it possible that we could get some more well known actors to play Bond Villians. Here are some of the ones we came up with.

Liam Neeson (tough guy type)
Cillian Murphy (psychotic type)
Hugh Jackman
Jesse Eisenburg (geeky type that rivals Q)
Ben Kingsley (pyschological mindf*** type)
Colin Firth
Mila Kunis (have another female villian)
Alan Rickman (dark and mysterious type)
Stellan Skarsgård
Christopher Waltz (high class politician in league with terrorist)
Hugh Laurie (he could create something that rivals Bardem IMO)
Terry O'Quinn (the anti-Bond)

What are some others, and the pros and cons of each you guys see. Discuss

I just watched the 11/15/12 episode of Person Of Interest. In that episode Julian Sands played a bad guy. The episode reminded me a lot of Die Hard 3 and Julian Sands character Alistair Wesley was played similar to Jermey Irons playing Simon Gruber. I'd like to see Julian Sands play something similar in a Bond movie. A bad guy who makes Bond work for him. If Bond doesn't, something bad will happen.

Powers Boothe (cold blooded executive), Ian McShane (corrupt military officer), Alexander Siddig (assassin) and Rebecca Romijn(femme fatale) all team up to destroy an important military/industrial target. Powers Boothe wants his competitor destroyed. Ian McShane wants the military tech Boothe is developing in competetion with his intended target. Alexander Siddig and Rebecca Romign are the hirelings doing the dirty work and Bond gets thrown in the middle. Add Rachel Weisz as his leading lady(who actually survives this time) and let the mayhem begin. B-)

What about Daniel-Day Lewis? I feel like he could pull off a charming, Savalas-esque Blofeld sort of character. Kevin Spacey could also take on this sort of role.

On the other hand, we haven't seen a Bond villain that looks as if he could physically take Bond on. Perhaps Hugh Jackman could take on that type of role.
It's all right. It's quite all right, really. She's having a rest. We'll be going on soon. There's no hurry, you see. We have all the time in the world.

    Benedict Cumbrebacht?
    Sam Niell?
Timothy Dalton? (now that would be something)

Not to burst anyone's bubble, but I read somewhere that Rickman was initially offered the part of Alec Trevelyan in GE, but turned in down, as at the time, he was getting tired of playing villains.

I've always thought that Daniel-Day Lewis would have made a superb Bond.

    Gary Oldman
    Terence Stamp
and Charles Dance (although I know he played a henchman, so not sure if that would work :s ) but he makes a menacing adversary.. as anyone who has been watching Strike Back, would know.

And I take it, in interest of not being a sexist forum, we can include actresses?

If so, then Sigourney Weaver, or Charlie Theron would be interesting....

    Anthony hopkins would be great!
Or mr. connery, would that be nice? Never going to happen but still.. it would be great especially when you wouldn't know it before watching the movie...

John Travolta. Queue truly awkward scene in a health spa that has glaring bisexual undertones. :s

I'd like to see Liam Neeson as a villain that used to be a spy. I think he'd fit that well.

Navene Andrews as a corrupt oil Barron from Dubai, who has been educated at Oxford and has entire middle eastern military units as his disposal....

Wow, I don't know if I could see Sayid Jarrah as a corrupt oil Barron. He was such a nice guy on Lost. Well, nice about 98% of the time.

Wasn't his Lost character worked as secret policeman of sorts in the Saddam regime. :v

And for some slightly comical bad guy who could hinder and then help Bond is Alaxander Siddig leading a gang of Somalian pirates.

Yeah, I think so. He knew how to torture people to get them to talk. Also, in the X time line he worked for Ben Linus as a hired killer. While on the island though he was a cool guy.
