Very Interesting DB5 up for auction!

Well its not Bonds Db5 but I don't have 2 million to blow on a car at this time!

Car previously belonged to Peter Wheeler who was the owner of TVR.

Depending on how close to the estimate I will be very interested in it and putting it back to Road spec

Think the estimate could be on the low side tho

Nice looking lowered and the rear arches are very cool - I would have thought 150+ as it is priced in for a restoration and maybe the Peter Wheeler connection might help. I turned down a DB5 about 20 years ago for 16k - ouch! what are they now 275+

I owned one for many years. Loved it but it was an believable money pit. (It was featured in "The Return of the Man from U.N.C.L.E.). Count your blessings.

A friend of mine just sold his DB6 after a very long and loving relationship. His saving grace, however, was the fact that he was an engineer that was willing to tear anything apart and rebuild it; a true blessing when owning any classic British sports car. For the rest of us, Lucus proved to be the demise of us all!
    Best,

Thanks, Ed. I've actually have been posting here, Mi6 and CnB for quite a while. Just thought I'd chime in on this because of my personal love / hate relationship with my old DB5. One night on the freeway the drive shaft disconnected from the rear differential. Could only happen on a hand built car. Sure could have used your friend, Beauseant. (Oh yeah, that should have said: unbelievable)

It's passed it was on the 28th, I didnt get it, it went for 165k, but I thought to get put back to road spec would probably cost another 80k+

Suspect you're right Ross, 50-80k depending on who did the work

Unless u wanted to race her, keep the roll age and the seats etc.

But given these beauties go for 200++ now in concourse condition 165+ was on the high side but not extreme.

Totally agree seen some for almost 400k, so definitely not out the ballpark, but would have wanted to return it to standard! I'm sure there will be others!

I also think the fact it bid up to more was probably due to more interest with Skyfall being out!

Yep and no doubt influenced the timing of the sale
