The Galpin Aston Martin booth at the LA Auto show this week is Mecca for Bond fans...
I took care of installation of some of the gadgets I designed for a friend's priceless Aston Martin DB6 yesterday... as well as this cracking replica of the "Goldfinger" DB5 with working video GPS, tire slasher knives, lighted machine guns, ejector seat through the roof, and all of the other fun bits I've been working on, there's several cases full of screen used props and costumes including a screen used piece from every Bond era (Connery/Dalton/Moore/Brosnan/Craig/etc.).
I'll be there all day Sunday (the last day of the show) to play with the switches and give the sound effects system a workout if anyone is interested in stopping by to see this incredible museum. The brand-new Vanquish is on a turntable next to the 50-year-old "Attack and Countermeasures" vehicle which is also well worth a closer look.
A quick cell phone shot once the owner and I finished fixing bits to the car:
Cheers

I think the links brian already posted gave some great shots of the Aston, but here are a couple in case... Goes without saying I'm chuffed with what Brian, malakai and others have achieved so far.... Still a work in progress.. We need to fully automate the numberplate box ( the three plates are already in place), the tyre slashers ( pretty simple wiring job left) and the ejector seat (yes it'll move up and down, just to keep the wife in her place..)
Brian also explained there was a small display of props, toys, gadgets etc, and some costumes. Well forgive the "thrown together" nature of the display, but we were given a week to put this together, and only allowed two display cases for props and three for costumes.
It was my idea to have at least 3 items from every film, plus Flemings typewriter, and in the end the fit was "snug"...
There were description cards for each film detailing every item, within close proximity.
I know many will be appalled at such demeanour, and all I can say is write to your MP.
Anyway these are the displays.
Oh we were allowed one more small display case..
Cheers paul
Aston looks stunning – Truly a great job with it. {[] You guys should be Very proud.
Also great to see props on display, and not just screen-used, but also re-creations and unique
pieces made by talented artists of this great forum. Thanks for sharing the pics, Paul -{
