When Silva died? People in the cinema including me started to giggle when Silva was stabbed by.Bond. He made these weird groaning noises as if he was super pissed off at Bond.

I think it was intended to be funny, in a gallows-humor sort of way. Silva's reaction to getting knifed in the back is akin to someone putting out their back, or getting bit by an insect; it's appropriate for his character -- who has known pain and suffering for quite some time -- to react like he does.

Also keep in mind that Sam Mendes has a soft spot for Live and Let Die, and while THAT particular villain death scene was ten hundred times more ridiculous... you can sort-of see the commonalities.

Personally: that was the only part where Bardem went over the top... If you take a knife that size in the back, you don't turn around looking like "oh, great, now what...".

No laughing, but I thought it was rather theatrical. Reminded me of the kind of death scene you see in a Shakespeare play/tragedy, or something like it. The Sam Mendes influence at work, me thinks.

It was derivative, I've seen it before. Maybe Nicolson when the three witches are sticking it to him in Eastwick, or was it Michael Keaton as Beetlejuice. Not sure.

is Very similar to Hannibal Lector's Lip action talking to Clarice Starling.

Silva's death reminded me of that of Kristatos in FYEO.

Can see the Hannibal Lecter influence throughout!

I was honestly thinking Jack Nicholson in The Departed; he, too, has a bit about rats where he makes nibbling noises to somewhat comical effect.

The whole theater eventually devolved into hysterics about halfway through. Still, it was in-character for him and reminded me a bit of Chris Walken smiling and falling wordlessly as he fell off the Golden Gate Bridge and into the ocean in AVTAK (although not a top tier Bond film in my book, Walken played Zorin extremely well, IMO).
By the way, are you gonna eat that?

The first time, I thought it was fine. The second time, I was thinking, "Wow, this is a long and dramatic death." He just wouldn't fall down!
