Lazenby is a guy I feel really bad for. Went from being the highest paid European Model to getting the role of James Bond, Probably the dream start to a career for anyone in show business.
Received the role at 30 years old and got what some say is the best actual Bond story in OHMSS and did really well in terms of acting, he gets one piece of bad advice and it ruined his career.
Lazenby at 30 arguably could of worked from 1969 well into the 90's as Bond. Probably would of been able to go all the way to Goldeneye if they wanted him. They wanted him for 7 films initially and he turned it down.
From there he plays C-Movies and some appearances in TV Shows, Never reviving his career.
I wish in 1983 when the battle of the Bonds came out that Lazenby had got the lead in a film that was Bond esque without being Bond. I know he got a 3 minute cameo in The Return Of The Man From U.N.C.L.E but that hardly counts.
It pains me that the guy has only really got a TV Role, A Commercial and a brief Cameo in a movie where he's played a "Bond Esque" role. I think a lot of producers missed the boat back in the 70's and 80's by not putting him in more things, they could of cashed in off Lazenby playing a Bond esque role big time.
As for that video it's very cool and shows how arrogant and cocky he was about the whole thing (In a good way) it's a shame he never got any other major roles.
That was pretty amusing! I'm glad to see Lazenby still has a sense of humor about his stint as Bond. And I don't care what anyone else says - OHMSS will always be a gem in the Bond film series.
