Who would you like to see play Bond after Craig decides to leave?

Craig will inevitably leave the Role one day, starting the whole Process of searching for the next Actor all over again. Now, I will probably raise a few Eyebrows here, but I have always thought that Jason Statham would make a good Bond. Let's face it, he possesses nearly all of the Qualities of Bond and has been in loads of similar Films in the Past.

No. Too limited acting range and not enough hair. Michael Fassbender is the best candidate I know of.

I still don't know why Clive Owen turned down the Role.

    Henry Cavill.

Right now, Henry Cavill is the candidate I favour to succeed Daniel Craig. He's already tested for the role, is very suitable, and will be the ideal age when Craig departs, which will be in approx five years if he completes his contract. A lot can happen in that time though, and it is quite possible that we know little to nothing about the actor who will become Bond #7.

Jason Statham is totally wrong for Bond if you ask me. I think Fassbender could be good, but these days I find myself leaning more towards an unknown actor for the next 007.

If Craig goes all the way to another two movies ( and the pile of cash on the table suggests he will) then none of the candidates known of today are likely to be the right age, even Fassbender will be pushing it. It's likely, and in my view preferable that we don't know who is even likely to be in the frame. Also now that ' tall, dark & handsome ' are now longer non-negotiable pre requisites it opens up the range of choice considerably to a larger pool of potentials, maybe we'll be surprised again with another 'left field' choice. Craig by then will be making the AVTAK Roger look like a spring Chicken, so someone younger probably early rather than late thirties would be my guess.

I agree with this a bit. I feel like many of the names being thrown around are not going to have the longevity needed due to their ages by the time Craig is done. Michael Fassbender will be several years older than Craig was when Casino Royale was made, meaning he won't be able to make very many films in the role. Jason Statham is definitely too old for that transition.

As of right now, Henry Cavill is the only likely choice out there that I know of due to his age and lack of major breakout success (Man of Steel will likely change that). But I feel like there is plenty of time to find someone else that we don't know or that is perhaps less predicatable based on physical appearance.

So for now, Cavill would be fine by me, but I can't confidently make a prediction.

Clive Standen or Max Brown, both currently 31 so in say 5years time they would be the idea age to pick up the mantle.

I nominate Vinnie Jones. Or failing that, Idris Elba.

(I actually think that it is most likely to be someone we currently either don't know at all, or who has currently had only a couple of low-profile roles that few of us have seen and/or remember).

Bale would have been good a while back but after Batman I'm put off for some reason or other.

    Statham?? Your having a laugh

Caville is best bet in current climate but who knows, long time before DC finishes

How about Benedict Cumberbatch? I always thought he had some kind of Roger Moore vibe to him... but without the sillyness. He's definitely convincing as a ladies' man but he still needs to prove he can be badass. I'm sure the next Star Trek will prove that.

Brilliant Scottish actor and he looks like Fleming's description of Bond....Hogey Carmichael.

Why not Vin Diesel or Jackie Chan? :p :s :))

But seriously, I think this quote nails it...

Who saw Connery coming? How about Lazenby? Who knew that Dalton could still carry it off after turning it down all those years earlier? Why was Daniel Craig such a surprise? The only Bond actors we've NOT been totally surprised by are Roger Moore (because he wanted the role, Cubby wanted him in the role, and he was unavailable) and Pierce Brosnan (for basically the same reasons as Moore).
By the way, are you gonna eat that?

    Freaking Idris Elba. 8-)

I didn't like him before, and then when he kept getting mentioned in the past several months I grew to loathe him because of that repeated suggestion.

He's had some good roles, but not like Bond.

who would i like? i dont know, but who is it bound to be? i put my chips on Henry Cavil. Playing Supes won't take away from his prospects. The guy was too young when he auditioned. He's 29 now, so in 6 or 7 years time he'll be the perfect age, with enough wrinkles to have shed the 'pretty boyishness' off the face.

Mentioning Idris Elba for a Bond casting has become a AJB tradition. :))

Daniel Craig was Bond rebooted. We've watched a character develope since the opening scene of Casino Royale to the end of Skyfall. I feel the next Bond should be a continuation of that character's journey and of what Craig started as opposed to starting fresh with every new actor. I don't think it should be someone as young as Craig was in Casino Royale, he's matured and has been around the block now. I say each new Bond should look to be in his early forties. With that I think Michael Fassbender is the best choice for the continuation of this Bond, after Craig is done and a few more years have passed. He should put on a little muscle again first ;)
