"Oddjob's" Weapon?

This is my first time on this site; I'm hoping someone can help.
From the estate of a former James Bond production executive, I've come into the possession of a nickle-plated .357 Magnum in mint condition, and told by his widow that he purchased it for use by one of the villians (she thought it was Oddjob) for either Goldfinger or another similar-aged Bond film.
During his life, I know he was on location for a number of Bond films and saw some of the memorabilia he'd collected, so I've good reason to believe in the veracity of her story. I double checked the weapon's history, and it was indeed purchased in Los Angeles at about the time Goldfinger was filmed. A check with Wikipedia did not reveal Oddjob using anything other than the Bowler Hat and a "pistol" as weapons, so I am unsure of the provenance, or whether perhaps it was purchased for use by another villian.
Can anyone shed any light on this? Thanks in advance for any help.

I'm not technologically gifted, but my granddaughter is, and when she comes by I'll ask her to take several photos and attach them to a reply. As I mentioned, I knew the original owner was on location during several Bond films (including Goldfinger), and have seen some of the memorabilia he collected. I'm therefore fairly certain the gun was used by a Bond villian; I'm just not not sure which one or when....
Thanks,

Success. Here are two photos of the gun. More can be taken if desired.

I've only had a few minutes looking into this so I might be horribly wrong, but I'm afraid I think you information is a little garbled, but not entirely incorrect.
I think this is a colt python 357 magnum, 6inch barrel version, and the only time I can think such a gun figured in a bond film was the man with the golden gun ( hence your thought that it was gold finger) although this was 10+yrs later.
And the gun only figures as part of the assassin's gun collection, seen here in the locked cabinet, on the left.

It looks to me that this is your gun.
Hope that helps, best Paul
Maybe it was bought so the film could stay true to the book but the idea was ditched?
I'm no bond book collector though so I might be utterly wrong here.

Well that's not a Colt Python, I believe it's a S&W Mod 29 8 3/8 Barrel in .44 Mag (The Dirty Harry S&W)
Bond did pick up a .357 Colt Python in the alley but that had a 2" barrel so not that one either.

Sorry GM ( really ) but it looks like a colt python 6" barrel to me - it even says colt on the handle

And the other photo ( where u can even read the word colt) versus the tmwgg gun cabinet..
Sorry right gun, but a 4" barrel
But you're right about the 2" barrel in LALD ( where he famously used the s&w )
My post #12 was referring to Bond_James_Bond's post #11, the link show's RM in LALD with a S&W Nickel 29. ;%

On reflection ( and a nudge) seems GM was referring to the post #11 which tgt it might be the LALD revolver ( which is indeed a s&w)
How could I have tgt GM would make a mistake with guns?
This is a pic of GM getting in the way of me "shooting" video at our recent gig at the range..
PS: Odd Job does in fact use a gun in Goldfinger, He uses a silenced Colt M1911A1 with a suppressor to kill Mr. Solo after he pulls off the highway. Also MiniGeff is correct that a revlover was used for the cover art of the novel From Russia With Love. It was Geoffery Boothroyd's S&W Centenial Airweight however and not a Colt Python.
I'm not that into the books though so couldn't recall which one it was. There's no pics in them books either and I prefer mine to have loads of line drawings and include a pack of crayons.

Many thanks to all of you who have responded (especially ke02eww and ppk 7.65mm) and to the length of research you've gone to help sort this out. I now have good reason to beileve that it indeed is a part of the collection in "The Man with the Golden Gun," and am now seeking further provenance by contacting the family of the production crew person who acquired it.
On recent research, I found the gun was purchased in Los Angeles, apparently in the early 1970's, which correlates favorably with the date that "Golden Gun" was released. In any event, the weapon fires smoothly and accurately and is in mint condition. I intend to keep it that way.
Thanks again.
