Yeah, disappointed here too superado! I would have definitely asked for it for Christmas had I found out sooner about it. I can't believe it was released in October, and I've only found out about it a couple of days ago-TLD is my all time favourite Bond film. Oh well, it'll be a nice present for myself or from someone else when I do eventually get it. If it's any consolation Charles' Making of OHMSS book seems to be in stock all the time on Amazon UK now, so hopefully the TLD one will be the same. Got enough Bond books to flick through during the festive period anyway-Bond on Set, Bond on Bond, and James Bond Archives.

Wiould like to get this one too after the OHMSS one was such a great read!

Barnes & Noble has it for sale on their website, I just ordered a copy myself as The Living Daylights is on of my favorite Bond films. I cannot wait to read it once it arrives.

I think the book was thorough with the subject matter and like the author's OHMSS, it includes background on Fleming's writing of the base story, the different plots concocted by the film-makers along with the script treatments, story boards, etc. Then there's the press conferences before and and after production, marketing tours, post-production activites with music, etc. There's even mention about Maryam d'Abo's Playboy spread (I used to have that issue!) ...and what she had to say about it. The book is pretty in-depth and chock-full of information for its size, though a personal wish would have been more detailed photos of the props used, like the cars, the cello case (I have a special interest in that) and wardrobe, but I understand all that might not be appreciated by most potential readers and those things can actually become whole books in themselves (i.e., The Props of TLD, etc.) The problem with this book is actually the generous amount of photographs that tempts you to flip sporadically through the pages and I for one have found it difficult to completely read whole chapters!

I can somewhat see the author's selection of OHMSS and TLD, being these movies weren't given the same attention as most of the other films in the canon, e.g., the "less loved" entries (which I in turn, "love, love!) Even the groaner installments like AVTAK and DAD for example, received much media exposure, so I wonder which overlooked gem of a Bond movie might come up as the next book?

In terms of audience anticipation, a similar book on Skyfall should be in the offing. Not saying I'd buy it, but the market would be there.

TSWLM would be another worthy contendor, a lot of backstory there and it's popular. And also, frankly, NSNA although it wouldn't sell well, and we have Battle for Bond. CR too actually, bet there's plenty to reveal about that.

There's a Retro mag on the making of Dr No at the movie shop on London's St Martin's Lane, shame the cover is a bit rubbish but it's a thorough read nonetheless.

Personally I've held off buying The Making of OHMSS cos I'm ambivalent about the film.
