How frustrating! I just ordered one from U.S. as I'd given up on any more becoming available here!

I don't think so mate. Paid half up front with is non refundable. I pulled the trigger on the pegg and son jacket anyway. They only had one. It was a return from their last batch of pre orders. I'm hoping there will still be sufficient demand when the one from the states arrives and I should be able to recover my money!

Welshboy, I was just wondering if you ever got the Large jacket and if so, how did it fit compared to the XL?

Hope to wear it out Sat (if it fits). Have a feeling it will be too small but hopefully perfect as XL although nice bugs me a little

What bugs you? Us the fit not quite right? The pegg and son large should arrive tomorrow.... If that doesn't fit I'll give up on it as I know the xl will be like tent on me especially around the middle..... I can't afford to have a £600 that I'm not completely happy with. Incidentally which size lodge jacket did you prefer? I think we have similar chest measurements.

Its all fine except a fair bit of room in the mid section (also sleeves too long however that is prob the same issue with all sizes)

Its nothing major just bugs me that the Large might be better fit hence for a piece of mind wanted to try.

The Barbour jacket I have a XXL - its snug on shoulders and arms, chest a bit of room and bottom baggy. I have a XL preordered just to try however the prob with this jacket is def te narrow shoulders hence it might be a case of having the XXL tailored

If the large is tighter in the chest you will fill some of the sleeve with your shoulders which should help.

Mate I took delivery of the large from pegg and sons today. You will not regret the decision to size down. I have a 44 chest.... Checked with the tape again today.... I think it would fit up to a 46. It is 23" pit to pit. I have it fully pulled in at the half belt... i have 34 waist.

I'm confident it will fit you better than your xl

To be perfectly honest the initial euphoria has worn off. I actually think the large is too big. Luckily I contacted bench and loom and changed my pre order to a medium. I will sell large.... And med too if it doesn't fit. A shame as it's a lovely jacket but I won't keep one if it doesn't fit right!.... The sleeves are mega long! I'm 6/3 and fill the shoulders of the jacket... There is just too much room in the chest and even in the middle with the half belt fully cinched in.

I've ordered a medium, so hopefully should be a good fit. If not though, planning on returning it. Will be cool wearing what DC/JB wears, but if I don't look good in it, then to me it's not worth keeping.

Well my Large arrived, fits very well indeed, not baggy anymore, sleeves now about right, waist perfect.
Pit to pit is a tiny bit tight but I do need to shed some pounds. Its sort of feels like a diff jacket.

Will get some comparison pics up for some opinions

Extra Large (longer sleeves and generally baggy)

Large (sleeves better and jacket fitted around body)

XL is quite a hell of a diff

I think the large is clearly the way to go with you. The jacket looks great!

I ended up ordering the large and the only concern I have now is that I am about 3 inches taller than you. Body type is the same otherwise.

Ditto! That's great, thanks. Off topic, did you ever sell a (QOS) Prada belt on eBay a few years back? I bought one and the seller lived in the Falklands! Cheers

It's still going strong! Wore it yesterday with my 'Enjoying Death' Chinos when we went out for Xmas lunch. Little big (as I've dropped to 36") but in great condition! So I thank you sir! My daughter still has the Falkland stamps you sent on her notice board!
