Sideshow Sean Connery Premium Figure problem

Guys, I know some of you have a lot of experience with not just collecting, but also making and fixing models, so hopefully somebody can help me on here! Last month I became the proud owner of this model. However, I'm having trouble attaching the SC figure to his base-I can get the big 'pin' fitting into his shoe, but can't get the smaller pin nto the shoe as the wire which attaches his other leg I have to bend it, and have already scraped the face of the stand trying to get the 'pins' into their holes on Sean's foot, and trying to bend the wire to stick it into the tiny hole. Right now, he kinda looks if he's hovering over the stand. I'd have asked the ebay seller I bought it from but they had never opened it, so they wouldn't have experienced the problem I'm having.

Anybody offer any help?

Firstly well done on getting the figure out of the box. I retailed these when they were new and eventually sold them off at discount as I was sick of complaints. That outer box was designed and made so tight around the inner box you needed to be a surgeon to get it off!

I suggest a very careful operation with a pair of needle plyers. Establish where the kink is with the pin and grip just above to take the pin to vertical. You have to be very careful not to snap the pin.

Last resort get a mallet and smash the head from the top several times to get it to sit right (Don't do this) )
