...and just when I thought I had my mind made up on the Boutique England one... I like the option for custom measurements.

I dont know the quality of this jacket, but even in India, this prices only possible with sweatshops were children are working. So I would avoid this page.

Looks terrible. The details are off, and it just looks like cheap quality. I still that the boutique england one is a good alternative.

I think the Leathercult one has more accurate looking leather.. the boutique version uses a slick shiny looking leather.. looks like a girl's jacket..

tardis1711 bought one of the Boutique England ones and said it wasn't shiny like the photographs and quite a dark brown. I know someone else on here has bought one too but I've yet to see any photos to see how shiny and dark it really is.

I'm the other one that got a boutique England one. Its fairly thin and light weight. Over all the jacket is not bad, but...

They run small. and I mean silly small. I have a 46 chest by measurement. I wear XL in everything but some European brands (Sunspel XXL fits perfect). I bought the 3XL and the fit is very tight. I can wear the jacket open but if I zip it it is too tight. I measured the pit to pit and it is 22.5 for a 45 chest instead of the 24 for a 48 chest that they advertise.

Not sure if I am going to keep it or try to sell it on for what I paid.

Can you detail what you feel is off about the Leathercult jacket? To me is looks far better than the Boutique England one, but I may be blinded by the huge difference in the look of the leather. The only thing I see off with the Leathercult one is that the side straps seem to go on a bit of an angle. What else do you find is different between the two replicas, especially against the Levis Menlo?

    TIA

It's still too smooth - it has a distressed look, but the distress and aging looks almost like it was printed onto super-smooth leather. The actual jacket has a lot of grain and actual distress, almost flaking in parts.

To my eye, the leathercult jacket looks too long, as well. The LVC is very short at the waist.

Just eyeballing mine - the back panel on the leathercult jacket looks too squared and doesn't have the same pronounced "pleat" on the sides, I guess you'd call it? The straps on the LVC are different as well - the loose end does not have the same pronounced taper as the attached end.

Here is a picture of the boutique England jacket. I think it is kind of tight for normal wear but some may say it is just SA tight. Like I said I really it is a good jacket, I just wish it was 1 size larger.

That does indeed look far better than the pictures on their ebay page...any chance you could post a couple of photos of the jacket from close up? Especially so we could see what the leather is like?

What's your take on how the leather will age? Not well because it's so thin?

Even for small pictures, that looks a lot better than the shiny shots in the eBay listing!

I may prefer one that hasn't be distressed yet. Like thelordflashheart I'd like to know what you think of the leather itself.

I will say its pretty thin. But I think the jacket is supposed to be that way. I think the liner is very thin also that makes it feel lighter than some of my other jackets.

Is it worth $200? I would say yes. I just wish the sizes were a little more western. 3xl should not be a 44 chest at best.

Thanks, those pics help a lot. Looks much better than the Ebay pics; the jacket still looks a little shiny but I presume that it's the flash. Do you think that the leather will age and distress nicely, or ust crack and look cheap? I guess for the price it's not a huge concern, but still...

The shininess is mostly the flash. I think it will age well. The leather is not as grainy as the original so I think it will look a little different than the levis one. Still some distressing will make it look better.

Yup photos are of the Levi. The actual jacket is probably not so good. I've asked them for actual pics, but no dice.

I ordered one of the ebay ones to just see what it looks like... getting an item not as pictured is a legit refund complaint thru paypal.. so will keep you all advised once it arrives
