Excluding Lazenby (as he only did 1 film), each actor's swan song (their last bond film) is usually regarded as their worst (by that I mean on a whole by the masses - obviously everyone will have different opinions). Just to break it down:
- DAF is definitely considered Connery's worst, no question.
- AVTAK might be considered Moore's worst. It seems to be either that, TMWTGG, or MR.
- LTK is probably less liked overall than TLD.
- DAD is obviously considered Brosnan's worst.
Will this trend continue for Daniel Craig? Obviously that's impossible to tell, but it's worth a thought seeing as it seems to have happened for every other bond actor.
Lastly, do you agree with each swan song being regarded the worst? Here's my views:
- My least favourite Connery film is TB, but DAF is probably next, and I can definitely understand the dislike for it
- AVTAK is great and I'm sick of the undeserved negativity. For me, MR is by far Roger's worst.
- I really like both Dalton films, but I prefer LTK to TLD in all honesty.
- I agree that DAD is Brosnan's worst - Although to be honest, GE is the only Brosnan film I consider to be a strong entry.

My least fave Moore film was Octopussy though i like it, i like all Moore films.
Like both of Daltons but agree LTK is weaker
Not overly keen on DAD but i prefer it to TND.
As for the other Bond actors, I generally agree that their last films were their very worst: DAF left me unimpressed; AVTAK is simply silly beyond words, and just don't even utter a word on DAD.
I hope somebody at Eon is reading this and taking note; make sure a Bond star leaves on a great film from now on!!

I like AVTAK, the soundtrack rocks and Chris is an amazing villain.
Much prefer it to Octopussy.
LTK is amazing! It's tanker chase is breathtaking. However performed badly as it opened the summer of 89 against Batman and lethal weapon.
Yes DAD is Brosnan's weakest one not because of him but because of the director ruining the script (all the stupid ideas were made 10 times worse by him).
Not sure if the swansong is the weakest one theory works.
There was also a theroy that every odd number Star Trek film was rubbish which was blown out of the water when 10 was terrible and 11 (the reboot) was amazing.
We agree on TB and AVTAK!! Finally someone sees it my way hahaha
