Midnight blue Skyfall tuxedo - at my doorstep!

Hey Gents,

Long story short, I am attending and co-hosting a Bond themed black tie gala this year for New Year's eve...so what is more fitting than a midnight blue tuxedo as seen in Skyfall?

Upon a little searching I discovered that Tom Ford does not rent tuxedos and the $5,000USD is a little out of my price range, especially for one night. I found a duplicate tuxedo by another designer which I was disappointed to find out was backordered until February as they had fallen behind on stocking national accounts due to high demand! I contacted the manufacturer directly and they offered to send a tuxedo directly to my doorstep - I will be the only one with this tux in the northeast region of the United States! I will post some great photos from our New Year's Eve event soon after the date has passed. For now here is a photo of the tux, excuse the poorly lit, instagrammed photo.

I am very excited about this and figured what better place to find those who will appreciate it!

I've been looking for a suitable alternative to the Skyfall tuxedo. I was very interested in knotstandard.com's tux, but have decided to hold off until I could find serious customer reviews of their products. After seeing what you've found, I'm thinking I'd really like to go this route. Do you mind me asking who the designer is? Thanks for any info!

Thanks guys! It is the Maxwell Tuxedo by G. Alexander: http://www.mytuxedocatalog.com/tuxedos/C1002-Midnight-Maxwell-Tuxedo

If you live anywhere in the US I can get you in direct contact with the dealer I went through, he will tailor it to your specifications and send it right to your doorstep. Spectacular service and one of the only people in the country who has access to this tux for the next month or two.

    Guys,

You can call Cliff, the owner of www.CarditaFormalWear.com at (772) 468-0799, to inquire about this tux. That is the store number, I'd like to give out his cell but I'm not sure if I should take the liberty to do so.

But let him know James from Boston Massachusetts with the midnight blue tuxedo sent you and he will take care of you. The service is impeccable.

Let me know how it goes!

Here's a quick preview! The pocket square is obviously on the opposite side due to the mirror effect but it is correct in person.

They are classic oval cufflinks, which are the correct type to be worn with a french cuff tuxedo shirt.

The Skyfall tuxedo reduced at Harrods

Great discount! The one in my photos may not be a Tom Ford but it's still only about 1/4 of that price :)

Hi double oh. Would you be able to find out for me what the SKU or bar code is? The label seems to block part of it. I emailed harrods inquiring about a 42L USA, 52 Europe of this piece. For the price its well worth importing.

    Thanks mate

They only had 3 of the same size left.
However, I'm sure if you just mention that it's Tom Ford Bond shawl tuxedo, they will know what it is

Thanks, I hate it when I see sales late in the game and miss out on it.

If it makes you feel better, the other sizes were sold at full price as I have been in Harrods a few times in the last 6 weeks and it has always been these sizes for sale.

    Skimming over this thread,

JMS 007 I think you got the best deal by far, and the suit looks sharp on you as well. Well done! Also full marks on the bow tie, it looks much more substantial than the "skinny" bow they had Craig wear. Is there a Cummerbund too?

Re TF, £1350.00? for a two piece Dinner suit?! That's extortion, plain and simple. I would never pay that much for off the peg, no matter how good the quality. Its only made worse by the fact its a SALE price!! :s I could get three, poss four tailor made suits for that kind of money. - Yes, I am a Scot!
This is Thunderbird 2, how can I be of assistance?

    JMS_007,
It looks like the TF has a fair amount of silk in the fabric, How much does yours contain?
It should say somewhere on the garment.
    Thanks

I wouldn't say extortion, but where can you get a bespoke dinner suit for less than that, besides Hong Kong? That's about what the best tailors in Hong Kong charge, and some off the Row tailors in the UK are about the same. You can definitely get a better fit for the same as Ford's on-sale price, But you'll be hard-pressed to find that type of craftsmanship, even in Savile Row suits. Not that it's really necessary.

I know better than to argue with you about tailoring Matt! :D

Nevertheless, to me you can get fantastic tailor made suits at a fraction of that price. I won't compare the quality of the materials, (I can't!) but I feel the cut of my Dinner suit stands up to scrutiny and it was bespoke.
At the Bond 50 Barbican Expo in the Summer I scrutinised the mens eveningwear in addition to being somewhat in awe of everything on display. However, in looking at the suits a part of my brain kept saying "Where is the money?" Maybe its my financially practical eye, but I could not see anything that made the tailoring look what it obviously costs! But then my best suits are a balance between tailoring and the evil that is budget.

I stand by what I said though - JMS 007 has done well at finding a good alternative for himself, and it, please pardon the pun, suits him.

To the rescue! Bought this great version in Rome, the fit is awesome, only difference is the buttons which I subsituted with black cloth tux buttons. he colour is great, fit is amazing and It really looks the part. They had a few pieces left in various sizes, I went for a 50 and it was a perfect fit, snug on the chest and shoulders. Guy at the shop said he would email me some pics, will post soon as I get them.
