I was trying to figure out why I was seeing sold out and don p and Sir Miles are seeing sizes in stock. It looks like here in the US it's been sold out and was 75% off for $238.50. When switching shipping to the UK, only then does it show up in stock for sizes mentioned.
I'd still be interested in the black one, but think I will hold out for the Bond one when I have the money again. Thanks for bringing it to our attention don p!

Ah that explains it.
I think Mr Porter is a ripoff. They do have some good sales, but they manipulate the inventory stock and their prices. I called to ask about the Bond peacoat, and bought an XXL return. They claim it was the last one, and it was only at 50% off. So i got it, and while its beautiful (I like it even more than the bond peacoat in blue, its much more elegant) I think it was still expensive at $390. I called back when they supposedly sold out at 75% off and ask if I can get a partial refund to reflect the new "sold out price" saying that I had bought the last one. They said no dice, we dont pricematch. So I asked how was it that I bought the last one (according to them) at 50%, they sold out and then they further discount it?
The same crap happened with the acne trousers. I ended up returning that piece and vowed never to buy stuff from them.
I hate price fixing.
EDIT: they show 75% at the US site, and 50% on the UK site? Fck that price fixing
caution to everyone purchasing one, they do run bigger than advertised. My XXL black had to be tailored down quite a bit, and the Choco XXL (Bond version) fit perfect, nothing at all had to be done to it.
Wow I thought they were same cut as the bond peacoat so that's a bit disappointing to hear. I would probably wear mine for work and hence over a suit but still may be too big based on what you are saying.
If you're in the U.S, after the duties are applied, it's still approximately $600. At that price, you'd might as well just pony up the extra hundred and get the "Bond Peacoat."
Just checked the fit on these vs the bond peacoat and they are way bigger on the chest 2 inches which is one size up. I am not sure if I will either send back to mr porter or get a tailor to take it in by two inches and replace the buttons with horn buttons.
Agreed if you are in USA you may as well buy direct from BR. Typical UK with 50 per cent off its still only 60 quid cheaper!
Has anyone received their jacket yet from Mr Porter and are they happy with it? Just got mine and not as big as I expected....based on measurements it would be an XL in the bond peacoat but it is not too bad.

Nope just sent it back..... Managed to get a size M from Mr Porter.....pure fluke one just happened to be returned when I checked on the website. Size L had a 45 inch chest so sizing is crazy.

Hi Ross if you decide not to keep the M then I would be interested especially if the large is way too big that I just ordered! Thanks.
Cheers
