Is Blofeld a Coward?

Think about it, he has abandoned every single of his Hideouts whilst his Men are killed by an attacking Force. Do you think he died during the Oil Rig Assault whilst in the escape Pod?

    Yes I know that, apart from the white Cat it's never been implied to have been Blofeld. Remember the Legal Dispute over his Character?

    I have always thought that the Helicopter Scene in FYEO was a Dream Bond had due to his burning Desire to get Revenge on Blofeld. Hence why it appears randomly in the Film.

    Of course its suppose to be Blofeld. I think its meant to be a very quick sort of resolve to the end of OHMSS. Hence the neck brace and Tracy's grave.

    But to the original topic, well he's a guy who has henchman do all his dirty work while he sits safely behind a desk. Hes not the bravest.

    For me Blofeld is a criminal mastermind, evil genius, well-educated, not the bravest like pointed in earlier post, but he doesn't have to be - he's the leader of a big crime syndicate. Although literal character is very different than in films, i think Telly Savalas was great Blofeld and worthy adversary for Bond in OHMSS.

    I totally agree to me Savalas has ben the best screen Blofeld. Smart but looked
    like he could handle himself in a fight. -{
    ( not the Blofeld of the novels, I know )

    Donald Pleasence and Telly Savalas were both great Blofelds. Shame they had to **** it up and use Charles Grey though.

    As Blofeld has many underlings at his disposal and great fortresses, I suppose that he can afford to be, can't he really!

    Aside from that, Telly Savalas was the best Blofeld - closer to the book Blofeld than the rest - the man of action etc.

    Honestly, I rather liked Charles Grey. The man is classy.

    I also tend to consider the scene in FYEO as the sort of "final death" of Blofeld, and that seems to be what it was intended as: Bond unambiguously kills the character off, no more respawns and no disputes.

    That said, I don't consider it cowardice as much as intelligence. You won't get anywhere in life if you always fight to the death and make a "heroic" sacrifice when confronted instead of choosing to retreat. The only reason Blofeld was able to last so long was because he left when it got too hot and began making plans to restart his criminal empire. It's actually very possible that the Charles Grey Blofelds from DAF were imposters operating on the orders of the crippled man behind the scenes; after the destruction of the oil rig, he was left with even fewer resources and almost no respect after his constant failures. That's why in the FYEO intro, he's down to one man, a remote control rig, and his wheelchair.

    Stealing thoughts is easy BL, ;) It's trying to manipulate metal I'm having trouble with.
    Although I do have a snazzy costume. :))
