so now all the hype has died down....

Where does Skyfall sit in everyone's bond film rankings?
It slots in at number 1 for me........

I have it somewhere in the middle. Not as good as CR, TLD, LTK, LALD, FRWL, TB or OHMSS, but certainly better than MR, DAF, DAD and FYEO etc.

I think this question is a good one, but it's being asked way too early. It's ranking in the pantheon of Bond is going to move down over time (most likely) as it's still too fresh in people's minds and therefore will show up higher than it should - if the question is asked now. That's a fact.

The all time classics are FRWL, OHMSS, CR-2006. Other superb Bonds include TB, GF, GY, TSWLM, FYEO, TLD. Skyfall is going to sit somewhere with these - most likely in the lower end of the pack - once it's all said and done. So top 10 but not top 5.

Not in my top five. Where it slots in after that will most likely be determined after numerous viewings of the DVD.

I think it's safe to say that SF will be in my top 7 of official Bond flicks, but for me the "hype" is still alive and it's way too early to say where it stands on my list. I've seen it 4 times in cinemas and now waiting for the blu-ray release. So maybe when B24 teaser trailer hits the screens, i'm done with Skyfall :D

I cannot decide which is 23rd, Skyfall or QoS.

Beautifully made, but with a derivative and incoherent second half, it shoots itself in the foot. For me it falls somewhere between 9th and 12th. Could have been in the top three if they had avoided the post-Macau turn in the plot.

Bottom Five for me according to my one viewing, which I'm in no mood to pay money to repeat. But for repeat viewing on telly, where you don't really care if it makes sense, just follow the pretty pictures on screen and the change of scenery, it could make the Top 10.

My list of top bond films is very controversial:

    1 - LALD
    2 - AVTAK
    3 - OP
    4 - FYEO
    5 - LTK
    6 - SF
    7 - DN

As you can see, the only 'popular' opinions of mine seem to be SF and DN.... The newest bond film and the oldest bond film.
It's hard for me to rank my top 4 with SF, as I enjoy RM films differently for different reasons. But I think that's where SF ranks anyway...
    1 - LALD, 2 - AVTAK, 3 - LTK, 4 - OP, 5 - NTTD, 6 - FYEO, 7 - SF, 8 - DN, 9 - DAF, 10 - TSWLM, 11 - OHMSS, 12 - TMWTGG, 13 - GE, 14 - MR, 15 - TLD, 16 - YOLT, 17 - GF, 18 - DAD, 19 - TWINE, 20 - SP, 21 - TND, 22 - FRWL, 23 - TB, 24 - CR, 25 - QOS

I thought it was a great improvement over QOS, and a
pretty good solid Movie. So for me, it would be some where
in the middle of the list.

I'd put it sixth or seventh place in my Top Ten list. Not sure whether to put it before or after CASINO ROYALE.
