Golden Era of the PTS?

I think we've had a solid run of really great PTSs in the Brosnan and Craig eras. I've liked all of them, and a few were among the best of the series.

Prior to GE, I found the PTSs to be all over the map. Some were great (GF, TSWLM, TLD), but others just seemed dull and uninspired (YOLT, LALD, TMWTGG).

Thoughts?

Brosnan era especially. All four were dynamite. The only quibble being the ridiculous freefall sequence after the airplane in GE.

GF was definitely the best of the Connera era.
Although I would consider FRWL just about perfect, the PTS seems a bit dodgy. I can understand SPECTRE using live targets, but why go to the trouble of dressing him as Bond?

Moore almost had a golden era of PTS from TSWLM thru AVTAK but some of them are weakened by daft humor.

So far I have not been overwhelmed by the Daniel Craig era of PTS. I prefer the mini-movie approach of GF and OP.
    My current 10 favorite:

    1. GE 2. MR 3. OP 4. TMWTGG 5. TSWLM 6. TND 7. TWINE 8.DN 9. GF 10. AVTAK

AVTAK's would have been perfect if not for california girls.
TSWLM and GE are the best two IMO.

I pretty much enjoy all of them tbh, except for MR, DAF, and QOS...
    1 - LALD, 2 - AVTAK, 3 - LTK, 4 - OP, 5 - NTTD, 6 - FYEO, 7 - SF, 8 - DN, 9 - DAF, 10 - TSWLM, 11 - OHMSS, 12 - TMWTGG, 13 - GE, 14 - MR, 15 - TLD, 16 - YOLT, 17 - GF, 18 - DAD, 19 - TWINE, 20 - SP, 21 - TND, 22 - FRWL, 23 - TB, 24 - CR, 25 - QOS

    1 - Moore, 2 - Dalton, 3 - Craig, 4 - Connery, 5 - Brosnan, 6 - Lazenby

I agree about Brosnan. All of his PTSs were pretty terrific and I don't think that's true of any of the other Bond actors. It really is too bad that his movies didn't all measure up to the PTSs, especially DAD.

I was disappointed with CR tbh, primarily due to the lack of a proper gunbarrel. But I still haven't figured out why EON chose this PTS to be black and white. Maybe to demonstrate where this falls on the 007 timeline? QoS was very choppy and extremely difficult to follow. It did have lots of potential, however. Skyfall was the best PTS since TWINE. I really enjoyed all of the others between Pierce and DC! hopefully we keep this up :)

I thought Live and Let Die was by far one of the better theme songs. Probably the only Bond theme that had regular air play spanning 4 decades. I'll hazard it's the only theme that had more listeners than the film had watchers.

I love the LALD theme. But I found the PTS—which didn't even feature Bond—very disappointing. Poor Rog has the dubious distinction of being the only James Bond actor who is not in the PTS for the film that introduced him as 007. I think he was cheated.

I reckon Brosnans four were tight, Daltons were just okay. Craigs have been awesome with SF the best in the series. Connerys were pretty bad only GF stands out to be good.

    I understand what you're saying.
But I found the LALD PTS pretty interesting and teasing and it just enhanced the tension to see the new actor and they did that very well imo.

I think the Connery PTS are getting some unfair flack tbh. While I would agree that GF is the best PTS he had, I also love FRWL (the tension is brilliant and any PTS with Red Grant is worth it's weight in gold). How can you argue against the PTS for TB too? The fight with Jacques Bouvar is one of the most brutal of the Connery era and I guess only the jetpack lets it down.

    Craigs PTS are a mixed bag. CR I thought was done brilliantly and it doesnt matter to me one jot that its done in Black and White (although when I first watched it I thought I'd brought a dodgy DVD) :)) . QOS had too much choppy camera work for my liking but Skyfall was a real return to form, full of action and well choreographed fist fights. -{

100% Agree. CR is one of my faves, it is so simple but so brutal that it really hyped me up that Bond was back.

QoS car chase felt like a mess, hard to see exactly what is going on.

Skyfall PTS did not excite me in the cinema because I felt I had seen it all with all the trailers, footage etc my own fault really.

I hope they dont show anymore PTS footage from now on and I think im going to force myself away from spoilers.

I think I may be one of the only people who loved the QoS PTS. Not only is it one of my favorites, I consider it the only really good car chase in the entire Bond series. I liked the chaotic, frenetic nature of the scene, as well as its brutality.
