Well, I haven't seen him in much... but from what I have seen, I think he'd do the job well yes. And by the time DC leaves, he'll be just the right age too

No. No. No. No and no.
Terrible actor. I watched 30 minutes of Immortals and had to turn it off because he was that bad
I'm dreading the new Superman film.
Michael Fasbender would make an excellent 007.

Not based on what I saw in Haywire. Good actor, yes, good Bond, no IMO.

I saw Fassbender in Haywire and I thought he was excellent...he's been excellent in everything I've seen him in....I think he'd be great for Bond...but, by the time DC leaves, I think he may be too old...and certainly too big a star...shame...

At this moment, Henry Cavill is my favoured candidate to succeed Daniel Craig. He looks the part, has already tested for the role, and will be just about the ideal age when Craig departs. But a lot can happen in the intervening years. It's quite possible we know little to nothing right now about the actor who will become Bond #7.

Have you seen Fassbender in Xmen First Class?
He is basically playing James Bond, even wearing a 3 piece Connery suit.
Mathew Vaugn the director basically made a '60s Bond movie with super powers which he discusses at length on the behind the scenes. Clips are even shown from Goldfinger and the whole production design style is Ken Adam. The film is the ultimate love letter to the early Bonds.

For those who say Cavill is a terrible actor ... well, I can't say he's the best, but I don't see him as that bad either. I think he's still developing as an actor, and as he ages he'll get better.

To answer the OP, yes I would absolutely like Cavill to be the next Bond.

Cavill looks impressive in the new Superman trailer, esp as he now seems sort of adult, makes me wonder how it might have been with him in CR, esp as Bond is now sort of back to where he started again at the end of SF, ready to kick off again. Could have been Cavill, though of course Craig has been a marketing phenomanon and people like him.

Thing about Cavill and Fassbinder is that they are too well known now, and either they will have made it of their own accord, or not in which case they're damaged goods.

I really don't feel qualifies to say! Iwas shocked that DC was chosen as the new bond and had to be dragged to the cinema by my wife to watch CR. after the Madagascar chase I was a believer and without a doubt he is my favourite bond actor.I don't think think they've ever got it spectacularly wrong they have all brought something watchable to the franchise. I do think he is probably too young for a while.

I immediately thought of Fassbender as Bond when I saw him in X-Men First Class. Particularly in the scene where he tracks down the ex-Nazis. But I agree with others who think he'll be too old to start a run as Bond by the time Craig is done.

It depends on whether or not Craig stays on longer than two more films, but if he's only in it for two more I don't think Fassbender will be too old. He's only 35 and he'll still probably look younger in his early forties than Craig looked when he started his run in his mid thirties.

I don't think Fassbender looks that young. His facial structure and skin type make him look pretty matured even if less so than Craig. I think he'll be too old in the 4-6 years it would be if Craig does just two more.

I sincerely hope not, he's not ageing well as it is and by that time I dread to think what he'll look like. He probably has one film at best before he starts to make the AVTAK Roger look as if he was in the bloom of youth.Personally I thought he was looking too old in Skyfall but it suited the part if we were to buy that this was a Bond several years and a number of missions in at the tail end of his career. I think they have a genuine problem after setting that up in Skyfall to backtrack for the next one if we are to accept a Bond at his peak in 24.

When Craig retires around 2016 or later, I agree that Henry Cavill would fill in. Probably he would be a Brosnan-type Bond.

I'm not a great fan of Cavill tbh & I'm not entirely sure where the apparent future Bond 'love in' towards him has come from.

Really enjoying DC in the role, so I'd rather cross this bridge as & when it's needed.
