Has a book of Bond gadgets and guns ever been released?

Searched around but never found anything, theres probably many examples on the net in forums etc but it would be very nice to have a real book version with lots of glossy pics and back stories to flip through. Got a good name for one Gals, Guns and Gadgets....The Q archives

Not to my knowledge, while the Complete James Bond movie encoplopedia has all of the gadgets listed and short entries for the Walther PPK, P99 and a few other real life weapons that appeared in some of the films it does not contain pictures for all of them. If some one where to publish such a book, I know I would buy it.

The holdup on something like this years ago would have been photography costs. Today, someone might self-publish this on an unofficial basis--and most of us would contribute photos and props--on an unofficial basis. :)

Someone should do this. Busy Ed? :D

This is the sort of thing that would require Eons participation I would think. If the book was going to have the right impact, you would need complete access to their archives and focus on hero stuff as the priority but as you say BCW, the fans have a lot to offer and the book could have a section on Bond replicas maybe.

I used to have a copy of the Lucasfilm Archives book and would marvel over all the original props and costumes on display.

Sorry to say this, but I bet that "complete access" or even access to EON archives would be a no go, unfortunately :#

I've actually compiled such a book...electronically. Compiling every gadget, gun, car, plane, helicopter, location, character, etc, etc, etc. I've shared these files with a few of you.
If you remember, I even started a sketchbook which I offered some time back
    See: http://www.ajb007.co.uk/topic/33713/james-bond-artwork/

While access to the actual props may be hard to access...I feel photos of the same item would suffice in putting together a book of this nature. For example... a photo of the correct PPK used by Bond with info about it would suffice. Trust me when I say not ALL the items in the Lucasfilm archive were the screen-used pieces. Some of the fan collections I've seen rival even the Barbican display in the way of hand-props.

Regardless, a book of this caliber needs to be a compilation of knowledge by each of the experts in the field. Many times I've heard my friends say "You're THE go-to guy about Bond"
Hardly....I've just stored info I've collected from varied sources and friends.

Books we've seen in the past have made attempts to cover the props but all have fallen short of the mark. Hopefully, one day we'll see publication of such a book (preferably by true fans of the film)
