What a great story, seems almost fiction :)

One doesn't really have anything to do with the other if you ask me.

Agree, he was fine in GE but his films went bad. But I must respect him as an actor he's a great guy, and he always have his best effort when the scripts were bad. For best attitude as an actor, the award goes to Roger Moore, he's a lot of fun and a great man. He happily goes to interviews and pops his head into Bond mania for Bond fans.

no doubt, seen him in many bond interviews very loyal to bond. Even though the recurring complaint of A View to a Kill was that he was to old for the part you never hear people say he looked bored of it....and after 7 films all credit to that fact....connery could barely handle 5

I do find it funny how many people find Connery as THE Bond, the original and the best yet his attitude to Bond as a franchise and to Broccoli and Saltzman stunk

What doesn't? Connery only doing 5 films and his attitude?

His dispute off screen has absolutely nothing to do with his performances as Bond on screen, which have been exemplary.

Back on topic. Goldeneye is my favourite of the Pierce Brosnan era by some distance. It is the most entertaining, and the only one that holds my attention from start to finish. It features practically all my favourite characters of the era, Alec Trevelyan, Natalya Simonova, Xenia Onatopp, and Valentin Zukovsky. Even Jack Wade is good in this film.

The first half of Die Another Day is pretty good, examples being the title sequence, Bond walking into the Hong Kong hotel in pyjama bottoms, and the sword fight. But from Iceland onwards is just about the series low point. The two elements (I can think of right now) where I would give DAD the edge over GE are the title sequence and the score.

GoldenEye over Die Another Day - a much better film. DAD is very poor - especially as soon as the film hits Iceland!

Goldeneye is definitely the best Brosnan bond, no doubt about it! But that's why I've watched is so so so many times more than the others - I can pretty much watch it all in my head without the DVD! It's 'the classic' film of the modern era and more than likely the best bond from the 90's until now. I've just seen it so many times now I find that I have to really be in the mood to watch it and take a long time between viewings so even though it's my favourite Brosnan Bond film, right now I'd watch it last out of his 4.

Yes, that is exactly what I meant.

Maybe GoldenEye is just completely superior, there isn't very many bad points about I can think of off-hand....just the score and maybe some of the middle section which slows down a heck of a lot but once the action kicks in these elements are all forgotten about
Unanimous: GoldnenEye is a better film but I still can't evaporate my love for Die Another Day.

To each their own. I think GoldenEye is a top 10 Bond film (my 10th favourite) and Die Another Day is the worst Bond film ever made.

Not huge on Die Another Day. Felt a bit cheesy and overdone. Don't hate it, just don't love it either.

    GoldenEye I love :)

Movies: The Spy Who Loved Me. Actor: Pierce Brosnan. Theme: You Only Live Twice. :D

GoldenEye would be the one I prefer. I think it's just a sexy movie (and not just for obvious reasons :p) I have nothing against DAD but if I was going to pick one to watch it would be always be GE.
