Refresh my memory, what did Domino do for a living? Was she just Largo's keptwoman ? Sounds pretty boring to me.

Stacey Sutton and Kara come to mind immediately. Never liked Mary Goodnight either, too much a bimbo. Same goes for Rosie Carver, although can she be considered a Bond girl? Either way, she was rubbish.

One of the most boring Bond girls IMHO is Kissy Suzuki from YOLT. I think it is a shame because Aki is one of my favorites, I still don't understand why she was killed and why Bond doesn't seem to care about that. He just hops over to the next girl like nothing happened.

Stacey Sutton wasn't boring, but she sure was annoying!!! Every five to ten minutes "JAMES!!!" in a voice that could and probably did break glass, cause dogs living near the set to go mad, and could easily be dubbed into a cartoon with a piano playing in the background and a mustache-twirling, Snively Whiplash-esque villain running away with her under his arm. She was therefore memorable and not particularly boring...but in all the wrong ways. If you disagree with me that Stacey was bad, BUT apply the same logic to a different Bond girl (your worst for doing all kinds of perceived bad acting), I would think "worst" (by default, the worst Bond girl would have to be memorable in the wrong way) and "most boring" are pretty different.

No, for boring, you'd have to go for least memorable, not worst, at least in my opinion. You'd have to go for someone who wasn't really memorable for anything. It's true that Kissy practically did nothing in YOLT, but she was quite a looker, and I'm sure part of it had to do with the fact that she couldn't lip synch her lines well. I also think that an otherwise-truly-terrific film in TLD was weakened by Talisa Soto's acting (or complete lack thereof), though again, she was more than a little easy on the eyes to compensate for it. For me? Probably Holly Goodhead from MR. Can you remember any of her lines?
By the way, are you gonna eat that?

Yes, because she had some of the wittiest lines in the series:

"Your talents of observation do you credit mister Bond"

"Not immediately, but I'm sure I shall"

She had a Lauren Becall vibe about her.

Boring would be most of the gals in Piz Gloria I'm afraid, even a bloke with my (frustrated) libido couldn't get worked about any of 'em. Maybe it was to make Rigg more appealing, but I doubt it.

I literally saw MR 2 weeks ago and don't recall either line. I do, however, recall that she spoke in a dull, monotonous, droning voice making it markedly hard to remember whatever the writers were giving her.

Ruby Bartlett was memorable in all the wrong ways, IMO. On the other hand, nobody else was memorable in any way (again JMO); you are right about that.

I respectfully disagree. Just because Stacy Sutton may be memorable because she is so annoying, I still agree with TP that she is also pretty boring. Actually, the fact that she is so annoying is part of what makes her such a bore. To me, memorable isn't necessarily the opposite of boring.

On the other hand, I completely agree with you about Holly Goodhead. I find her to be a very boring Bond Girl.

There's also a difference between the actress playing the part being boring, and the role being boringly written. Olga is QoS is a good example. Her character is interesting - she's out for revenge, she has a great fight scene with a general Padrano too - but while she's good looking, I just find her to lack a bit of sparkle.

On the other hand, Ursula Andress's role at Honey Rider is underwritten but she has a massive impact because of her charisma, IMO...

Nobody can touch Stacey Sutton in this regard; she owns the category. A combination of poor dialogue and poor performance. Yes, she's attractive, but it isn't enough to counterweigh the drag she puts on the proceedings.

    I honestly couldn't use the term 'boring' to describe any of the other primary Bond girls...and I'm alarmed that so many are bored by the lovely Domino (Claudine Auger)...arguably, her attractiveness does counterweigh all other issues. She is perhaps my second or third favourite Bond girl ever...but to each his own, of course -{

And of course, she's a fair bit younger than her leading man, of course Loeffs.... :D

Auger made a far better impression when I saw Thunderball on the big screen, she seemed a lot more carnal. I think Maud Adams as OP was not quite as lush as she should have been, but then you couldn't have someone overpowering Moore.

Oh, Kim Basinger was a bit drear - who'd have thought she'd go on to win an Oscar? Or Connery, for that matter, going by his performance in that film.

NSNA had it's problems, but Connery's performance was hardly one of them! He was in fine form even after all the years that had passed since he last portrayed Bond.

Kissy in YOLT. Aki was the real Bond girl and it was a shame she had to die, she's one of the better Bond girls. Mie Hama who played Kissy I believe was suppose to be Aki but her poor English made the producers switch the roles since Aki was a much larger speaking role.

If I remember correctly from the Making of Documentary, Mie Hama was going to commit suicide for the shame of getting fired from the film. The producers kindly reversed their decision and made her Kissy.

Oh, I'm not saying he stunk up the screen, though he lacked the Alpha male command of all his other Bond roles, he seemed a bit hesitant to me. Still, you wouldn't think he'd bag an Oscar a few years later

Fair point. If that is the case, then using that logic, I'd put Stacey in second place. To me, she's so bad it's laughable. Loeffelholz's critique seems about right on. Still, Holly Goodhead was just really dull, and as mentioned, I don't think the character was written as dull (Napoleon Plural points out she actually got some good lines), but just managed to be acted dull. I like Charmed & Dangerous's "acted dull vs. written dull" as well and would say that Stacey was both written and acted dull while Holly was just acted dull.

Yes, really! In fact, I think Connery is a far more impressive Bond in NSNA than Moore is in OP, although I'll grant that OP is a better made film. It helps that NSNA at least acknowledges that Bond is older and has lost a step or two. With Merry Ole Rog, that fact is never acknowledged, although it is even Moore evident (hee hee!) in his case. :D
