I'm just embarking on rebuilding my fitness after a summer of severe tennis elbow and a trapped nerve in my back. So granola for breakfast one wholemeal sandwich with chicken and advacado and an apple for lunch with two litres of water and a healthy steak, chicken or fish dinner. I'm now hitting the dumbells every morning before work and 3 Barbell weight sessions in the garage/man cave a week! I'm just hoping muscle memory kicks in

Thanks Chris, sorry to hear about the tennis elbow. I've had severe problems with that myself and even now all my workouts are based around not aggravating my elbows. I've got a bit of golfers elbow these days but can mainly work around it.
Im restarting again today after a mixed couple of months.
I really got back into the fitness and diet with noticeable effects a few months ago. I stopped doing heavy weights and swapped to lighter and more emphasis on cardio since I am well built but need to reduce fat.
This came to a swift halt when rolling my ankle and damaging ligaments (slipped off my garden path - sober as well ) ) After a few weeks I ended up going back to the gym continuing light weights however was too scared to start running again due to my ankle which feels weak still. Instead for cardio I was doing incline treadmill walking at a swift pace, however after a few weeks the unbelievable happened and I did damage to my achilles on the other ankle and laid up for a 4-5 days! It was very bizarre and it really felt like I was falling apart, it used to be lower back problems (touch wood all good now) but now this.
Think I will stick to bikes, crosstrainer and swimming for my cardio from now on! Running was a chore anyhow and so dull! Old age kicking in I guess!!
I hate running, I think I'm just too naturally big built for running, even when playing rugby I never did running in training always cycled and swam. These days I swim and do a lot of swimming underwater. I have had lower back problems on and off for a few years but tend to live with it, trapped nerve was just disabling.
Like a few on here, I'm about to re-start the fitness mission after a far too long lay-off. I've had a pretty serious problem between the base of my skull & the join to the neck, so for nigh on 12 months I've been unable to do anything whatsoever. Throw in to the mix an ongoing shoulder issue that has required surgery and I'm going to have to become a cardio monkey for a bit when I get the all clear to start.
Used to do 4 x weights sessions (generally back & triceps / chest & biceps / legs / shoulders & abs split), along with a HIIT session each week ... but now I can't even lift a pint of milk above my head, having previously Arnie shoulder pressed 40kg dumbells. My surgeon has told me to avoid any weights for 10 weeks, so I'm going to have to get onboard a Watt Bike and peddle away. Hard not to feel down about the situation, especially having piled on the timber during the last 12 months through very poor diet & feeling sorry for myself ... but I guess it's the old adage of mind over matter & the need to get cracking again as best as possible.
Best of luck to you all in your own journeys and thanks for listening to the mini-whinge just now

Good luck with the recovery. I know how frustrating it can be when you can't train as you would like.
I've been doing this skyfall routine https://kinobody.com/workouts-and-exercises/daniel-craig-workout-skyfall/ for about 2-3 month with pretty good results. I, like a few people on here am trying to come back after a long term injury.
I used to box and didn't have an inch of fat on me but then a machine at work tried to pull my arm off and tore numerous tendons and muscles in my back and shoulder.
I put on 6 stone after 4 years of physio and not much else but i'm now getting there and have lost 3 stone in the last 6 months.
I have to admit that it's the bond lifestyle thats given me the motivation .....i just have to get in those clothes
How are we all doing on the fitness front? I've just celebrated a milestone birthday and am still grinding it out although I'm suffering from more and more injuries which is a real pain. I'm going to try and keep my Instagram page updated to keep myself motivated.
I have always been very fit and ripped up to 39 but I became lazy in 2014 and didn't look after my body anymore. I was 15 kg overweight a year ago.
Since January I am on the way to my old self again. I lost about 12 kg of overweight in six months due to eating healthy again and in my job as an army field officer I do a lot of physical stuff.
Since July I have been focussing on gaining muscle mass again, my legs never have been a problem so it's mainly upper body.
It's not a whole body workout, it's shoulders, arms, chest and abs.
This six week program was rough but I am so happy with the results. I will rest my body for 10 full days and then maybe continue for another six weeks before I will switch to focus on my whole body.
I feel so much better already. It's not only what I see in the mirror but actually feeling healthy and fit and it helps a lot to feel mentally fit as well. I am 43 on September, 28th.
from two weeks ago...not exactly Craig 2008 but I will get there, definitely. If not I'll settle with Craig 2012 )
I am training with my own body weight and free weights. I have equipment at home which helps and of course I can go to the army gym at any time I wish to.

Handstands are my specialty by the way
great work! There's barely a difference between Craig's QOS physique and his SF one. If anything his SF physique is more impressive considering he's 4 years older and has a lot more shirtless scenes throughout the film compared to the one in QOS.
Not much has changed for me physique-wise since last year except my arms and legs have gotten a bit bigger. I definitely need to work on my shoulders more, they've always been my weak point. Trouble for me as an ectomorph is getting in enough calories on a daily basis to gain any size.

I always thought that Craig looked smaller in Quantum after Casino but he looked much bigger in Skyfall.

He was definitely slimmer in QOS then CR where he was famously his biggest. But between QOS and SF I really don't see much difference in his physique. Unless there was a considerable difference in both films I think he just looks bigger in SF because his hair is much shorter.

I can only judge from what I see in the movies. His 2008 QOS physique looks, in my eyes, more defined, pure muscle.
In SF he is as muscular probably but definitely not more defined than in QOS, maybe a bit more mass overall. Hard to say.
In any case in CR he is too bulky and it looks not very natural anymore. In QOS he has THE perfect body, I looked like that for a good 20 years and I will never forgive myself to have abandoned my fitness.
I'm a few months older than Mr Craig but finding it really does get harder to train consistently as one gets older. I don't have access to all my equipment at the moment so have to improvise and play around with my training. It's amazing how many niggling injuries you pick up as you get older so I'm really doing a lot of stretching and foam rolling these days. I'm also going to look into trying a bit of yoga.
I try and keep my diet nice and tight during the week and relax it a bit at the weekend. I'm not as obsessed with my training as I used to be and try to have a nice balance as I love to eat out and drink red wine.
You look so great at 49, I'm six years away from that age but I think you look better at 49 than me at 43.
I agree it gets harder to train. Even my age seems not to forgive anything as easily as with 38 or even before that.
I'm not complaining though, what I accomplished this year so far, especially in the last 6 weeks is really making me happy.

Thank you
I second that! Great shoulders and you have some cobra traps action going on as well!!
Thanks guys. Still a long way to go but I'm enjoying the journey.
