little update:

Just to give you guys an idea, why this takes so long : We recently learned that the stones have been too large. This is a trial in brass with smaller stones - I still think that they are a bit too big:



Seems that we have gotten the outer shape of the egg correctly now:

Markus I have to congratulate you in putting a PROP back into this forum, something that has been sadly lacking lately. I hope to put this right very soon with a gobsmacker from SPECTRE that is nearing completion and will roll in at less than a year from the movie's release. A lot of work has gone into this by a couple of expert craftsmen as well as myself. I only say this because at last count you've had ............. Wait for it .........
