Does the reboot mean Bond will have to marry?

I suppose that question only matters if the producers are influenced by Bond’s biography as set out in the novels. If they aren’t, and are creating a new biography for Bond, then anything is possible. But to do that would be, for me, taking “artistic licence” too far, so that in the end Fleming’s Bond disappears altogether.

I think the death of Vesper in "Casino Royale" sufficiently fills the void left by Tracy in the original pre-reboot series. Ideally, EON would have started to remake the old Fleming novels after "Casino Royale" in order and we would have seen "Moonraker (2012)" and not "Skyfall". They don't HAVE to remake OHMSS and marry off 007 just to get that same "ooomph". I don't even think the public at large knows, remembers or even CARES that Bond was a widower.
As an aside: There are remakes and updates of old movies even now... I think the fact that EON hasn't gone that route is a testament to those old films still living up to they overall quality of the series.
So no need for This Bond to get Married.
Craig's lost at least one girl in each film. I don't think he needs to marry, either, personally.
The film franchise has always had some original and altered ideas to create a lasting, cinematic Bond. I have no problem with it.
Ha
So true, think next film is about time it ends with DC having a good time with a lady!
