Just watched Tomorrow Never Dies again and I have to say the scene when James finds Paris' body in his hotel room along with that German guy is hilarious! The way he ends nearly all of his sentences with "yaa?" was funny but when he was on the phone to the guys trying to break into the BMW it's comical. It seemed like something that would happen in a spoof )
"You were fantastic! We're free!"
"Kara, we're inside a Russian airbase in the middle of Afghanistan."
The line in Thunderball when Bond & Volpe are dancing
" strange as it may seem, I've grown accustomed to your face"
The way SC delivers it makes e smile every time.
Sorry, Blackleiter, Connery had great delivery, but Roger Moore's name is on that trophy by far....(IMHO of course, but I reckon a few people will agree)

Nah! Moore was good with the humor, but he didn't have the sly wit of Connery's delivery. Moore is a bit more obvious and over the top. Not bad, but Connery has him beat. -{

In CR: "How was your lamb?" "Skewered. One sympathises" - always cracks me up, in fact that whole train sequence dialogue is excllent, along with "... and you're Miss Stephanie Broadchest..." moments later in the taxi.
I use the lamb line all the time when my wife asks how my meal is. I love that whole scene.
In TND, when Bond "ejects" the second pilot upwards into
the aircraft above him.
I just can't help thinking of Hot Shots, where they do the
same thing. )

Yes, but there's a flaw in that scene as by rights Bond's head should have been decapitated as the back seat driver passenger was garrotting him sat the time! That fact does actually make that scene pretty hilarious, but for all the wrong reasons! ) 8-)

when Bond tips the car on two wheels to fit through the small gap in the Vegas car chase in DAF. The film negative was flipped accidentally giving the scene a mirrored image.
Have you ever heard of the Emancipation Proclamation?"

Are you referring to how the car went into the narrow part on the passenger side wheels and came out on the driver side? That wasn't caused by the negative. That was caused because they forgot to film the second half of that scene where the car comes out until the movie was almost done filming. I saw an interview with Guy Hamilton who said that it was the second unit filmed the last half of that shot while he filmed the first part. So they had to do this stunt twice and they did it on two different sides of the car. Hamilton didn't see it until they were putting the film together in the editing room and when they caught the flaw it was too late to change it.
He didn't seem too upset about it in the interview however, he was having a good chuckle at his own expense.

I think the Guy Hamilton interview you may be referring to is from Top Gear's 50 Years of Bond Cars. Hamilton filmed the car coming out of the alley first but then had to fly to England. Cubby Broccoli was left in charge of filming the car going into the alley. Some weeks later on seeing the rushes, Hamilton told Broccoli it would have to be done again, to which Broccoli replied "No f*****g way."

Yes, that's the correct explanation, inelegant though it is!

I remember another interview with Hamilton in the 'Inside of' documentary. It appears the first time it was shot there was a lot of people on the strip that are obviously being hold back by police officers. You can see the original part in that documentary. On a small tv screen you don't see it very obvious but on the silver screen it might have looked silly. So a stuntteam from France was hired to re-shoot the exit but they did it on the wrong set of wheels. Hamilton said he couldn't be bothered, but the person in charge of continuity had a different opinion. So Hamilton put Connery and St. John in a car on a rig and shot the insert scene.
That's where the Camera Technique from QOS would of Helped.
With the camera shaking all over the place, NO ONE would've
noticed. )
Still you'd think they would of filmed it again. I'm sure with modern
digital magic thay could have it coming out on the correct side.

Ah! thank you for clearing that up. just realized that the scene is in the deleted scenes of the ultimate edition DVD version of DAF. I'll have to check it out.

Can't say I've ever noticed that one before, ZI, but thanks so much for bringing it up!
I may smile at the puns but generally they pass me by which is probably why I prefer the darker films.

Q: "oh that's perfectly feasible sir, as a matter of fact we're working on one now"

I laugh at that scene everytime

Yes, M and Co. seemed to be in particular foul mood in TMWTGG and in all of the other post-Goldfinger Guy Hamilton Bond films, IMHO.

also in the same film when Q says: "Something we're making for the Americans, it's called a GHETTO BLASTER!"
" I don't listen to hip hop!"
Also, "I think he's attempting re-entry sir!"
And though DAF is my least enjoyed Bond film... "I was just out walking my rat and seem to have lost my way."
