Did anyone ever think it was quite weird how that health spar was right next to a military airbase where they keep nuclear bombs from the NATO?

Well not exactly weird but one of those huge coincidences which happen so often in the Bond books and novels:
M sending Bond to recuperate in the one place in the UK where Spectre are just about to launch another bid for world domination...
Or Bond staying in the same hotel in Miami as Goldfinger (in the film at least)...
Or Bond rescuing the daughter of the head of the Union Corse, the one criminal organisation with a link to Blofeld's secret location...

In the Movie Bond was at that Miami hotel specifically to watch Goldfinger, he just didn't know until Felix told him about it. In the book it was a coincidence.
