Question on the lodge scarf/shawl. What color?

There is information scattered across the threads concerning the scarf on the lodge sequence.

What are people using as an alternative? I am looking to get one but not sure of the color.

Thanks

zara had one of these way back and it looked EXACTLY like this. I kinda regret not getting it as it was only $16. Its not the one currently up on the website for $32 but another I saw in the store that was only $16.

    This?

    http://www.zara.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product/us/en/zara-nam-S2013/358071/1113155/VISCOSE/POLYESTER%20BLEND%20SCARF

its 40 and viscose and polyester? I'll peel the skin off the neck in an instant

yes, that ISNT the one to get. Its too thin and looks like a linen (Ive seen it in person) when the TF has a solid weave texture going on. I saw one at the Zara store that wasnt listed on the website and it was only $16.00. I dont know if its still there or not but it definitely looked the part.

Yeah we all know about the loft fiasco, same with the ties. I'm looking for an alternative to the lodge scarf, some people have gotten a lighter brown/tan and dyed it. Dont think I want to to that with a cashmere piece though.

TF might be willing to do a special scarf run, its not as complex as a tie etc

Also the cost would be divided by two if cut SA style! (though doubt TF would do that bit for you!!) :)

I just bought a shawl made of pashmina and silk in dark brown from amazon for £17

Will see what the quality is like and give it a go getting a tailor to cut it down in size

I asked DaveZ on his website what the TF shawl was made of, as he has one, and he said cashmere and silk

yeah if you can post a link please. Ebay has also quite a few but not very "budget alternative"

Heres the link. Doesn't have the weave pattern like the TF but I got it for the price and colour

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B004BYIMJM/ref=pe_217191_31005151_dp_1

I also chose something with silk hoping it would be thinner and thus not look like a neck pillow when tied around my neck

    Hi Kadd

Do you reckon that this is big enough to get 2 scarf's out of it?
if so i would gladly pay you half of what you paid , for one..

Shouldn't be a problem with the size from what I remember of the width. Let me have a chat to my tailor once I receive it.

    Cheers

Got mine in today. Its nothing special, the cashmere is typical chinese stuff, which is to say not very high quality but still comfortable to wear. The cut is rough (edge cuts) and you can definitely see threads pull from where they cut it.

The fringes look very cheap, IMO, i'll cut those off.

It is a shawl, and its huge. There is more than enough material to make two scarves. The color is actually pretty good, dark chocolate brown which is good enough for me.

Hi, have been overseas for my sister in law's wedding. Shawl was waiting for me when I got back. Here's some pics.

Agree with what 96mn12 said about his. Quality is ok for cost, and it's soft and doesn't scratch or anything so should be comfy to wear. Looking at pics of the lodge scene this is not really the same colour as this is more of a brown with a tinge of copper and a bit of a sheen to it. But overall it will do.

Just need to get it to the tailors now.
