Anyone seen this Three Olives ad? I've seen a FULL PAGE ad in our local paper every week and also in some mags. Is is me or is Owen giving a wink at EON letting them know he'd be up for replacing Craig? Someone tell me he's not supposed to be Bond here.
Ever seen him in a film called CROUPIER? When that came out (pretty limited US release I suppose), I thought, "Okay, Pierce, when you're ready to step aside, here's the guy who can take over for you...."
Clive Owen played a 007 knock off in the terrible pink pather film. Don't sitting through the whole film. Watch his clips here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UyDHWnShkbo
I have always been a huge supporter of Clive, your right croupier was great, but in all his movies he oozes Bond, ruggedly handsome, but not a pretty boy, phyisical and convincingly so, not to mention suave and charming with the ladies in a Connery way.
How old is Clive Owen? Wouldn't he be too old to start by the time Craig has finished?
Clive Owen was too old yesterday - he is 49 now, I believe. 2006 and Casino Royale was his last chance to b 007. It's interesting to discuss what kind of Bond Owen could have been, but I hope you all understand Owen will never be James Bond.
Michael Fassbender looked pretty convincing in X-Men First Class...
as a nazi paedophile maybe. This is what I hate about the casting of craig, now as long as the actor is british and unatractive he could be Bond. How about someone of eastenders next. Dear god.

I thought as much. There was a lot of talk about him being bond, but that was years ago now...
Owen is far too old to become Bond now, but i think he is the best candidate that there has ever been. He has the look of Bond and from watching his various films could easily play the role of 007. If you had asked me in 2005 Craig or Owen, it would certainly have been Clive, however that time has passed and Craig has played Bond so well that he is in my top3 Bonds at th very least if not higher

Clive Owen is a very wooden actor. The reason Craig has done so well against all odds...... he's a good actor. We can't slip back after taking so many steps forward.

agreed, absoloutely brilliant, the way he portrays emotion is incredible. The mono-sylibic responses done with such panache. The way he manages to convince us that he has no real skill with ladies with such ease. The lack of expression change in his face whenever anything happens (bar being bashed in the nuts with a rope) brilliant brilliant actor.
I thought C Owen was wonderful in "The Children of Men ", So I have to disagree. IMHO He's a fine actor. But too Old for Bond now.
I concur.
I agree. I just watched Children of Men again this week and he makes it such a great journey to follow. We're with him almost non-stop and he shows some great, believable emotion and reactions.

I concur to this statement.
He's also too old.
How about Richard Armitage? He's off from the hobbit, He's english, a good actor and is very suave. He's 42, I think. My other choices would be Karl Urban, Hugh Jackman, Damian Lewis and Gerald Butler. What do u guys think?

He has a very silly walk too. Craig might walk like a chimp, but Owen has a very feminine gait. I'd hate to see the gun barrel/
In case anyone thinks I dislike Owen. You can't be more wrong. I thought he was great in Chancer and Children of Men. But then we have King Arthur and Bourne and that awful shoot em up thing
