Yeah I just finished watching QoS and not for a second did it feel like I was watching a Bond film. Turn that into a Jason Bourne movie and it wouldn't be too bad but it definetly wasn't James Bond.

Great reviews - very entertaining. I don't agree with everything said but it's a lot of fun.
Critics and material I don't need. I haven't changed my act in 53 years.

    Mildly amusing...100% wrong...but mildly amusing...

S'funny how you have have tried to use comedy to get your point over...obviously you couldn't take a straight approach as your 'argument' - such as it is 8-) - would die on its arse...nice try though.

QOS is not my least favourite bond film, but it's fairly low on my list (17th), but I have to say you do make some valid points that I agree with. The movie moved way too fast. Very funny video also

Great review. Fantastic editing and hilarious.

Totally agree with everything you say about QOS except that it is not the worst Bond movie, that particuliar dubious honour belongs to that steaming pile of horseshit that is called Moonraker.

Totally wrong. QoS is a good film, perhaps not your standard Bond film BUT the worst Bond film is undoubtedly Die Another Day.

Agree DAD its that stupid invisible car it was a great film upto then
all the usual ingrediants of a Bond film, mad hench man hell bent on world domination
guns explosions clothing those unobtainable cigars, Havana,
they feast ,what more could you want ,then that wretched automobile, why make an Aston invisible
the reason why you drive an Aston is so people can see you (watch this space)

I am not really a friend of Quantum, but after watching SF yesterday for the 3 rd time, I thought, that there was not a single moment with the intensity of the Sevilla part for example.

QoS is terribly chopped, but has pretty intense moments
President of the 'Misty Eyes Club'.

Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!

DAD is like 2 seperate movies. The first half is actually pretty good but as soon as they get to that ice hotel, it just gets way out of hand. Invisible cars, fire coming out of the sky, the Asian guy changing himself into a red headed white man, surfing through a tsunami.
1: Casino Royale 2: Goldeneye 3: Skyfall 4: Octopussy 5: Goldfinger 6: Tomorrow Never Dies 7: The World Is Not Enough 8: The Living Daylights 9: From Russia With Love 10: The Spy Who Loved Me

Well no the reason I use comedy is to make it entertaining. If it was just me doing talking points, it would be boring. As I said in the end, there are so many problems with this film I just can't go through it all. And I had to edit out A LOT of stuff trying to bring it down to 15 minutes and I still couldn't do it. I respect your opinion, but you don't agree that the action scenes are horrendous? Cutting every two seconds? C'mon!

And thank you! Yes Moonraker is actually my second least favorite Bond film. Believe me it's bad, but at least Moonraker has the great skydiving scene in the opening and it doesn't take itself too seriously, unlike QUANTUM.
Totally wrong. QoS is a good film,
    Explain?
The worst Bond film is undoubtedly Die Another Day.
I don't like that one either, but I'd watch DIE ANOTHER DAY anyday over QUANTUM OF SOLACE. As I mentioned, at least in DIE ANOTHER DAY, we know what the plot is, we know what's going on as ridiculous as it may seem. Plus, as always shaken and raptors_887 said, the first half of the film is great. Yes they should have just continued that storyline, but it is what it is.

Sorry...I found it embarrassing for you and not really funny at all...but I respect your choice...
    And no...I don't find the action sequences horrendous....I can follow them easily...even though they are filmed in a way that conveys the frantic nature of the chase...you don't like it...fine...but you haven't made one valid point against the film at all...you just seem to churn out the same crap that others have before you...in another post of yours you complain about people following the herd to be seen as cool...as Solitaire said..."it seems you have found yourself" -{

Well Sir Miles, I respect your opinion, but I'm not embarrassed at all. I got nine other people here who enjoyed the review. To each his own. Why don't you make a video review of this movie and show me your superior comedic reviewing skills?

I mean what else can I say about the action sequences. I can't stand cut-every-ten frames shakey cam grainy looking shots, maybe you enjoy them, but for me, I'd rather see one steady shot of a real stuntman jumping off an icy cliff and opening the parachute. Do you honestly think the car chase in QUANTUM is better than that? If so, there's not much I can do for you.

It effects the plot too. I remember in CalvinDyson's review of the movie, he talked about the scene following Mr. White's interrogation where M's bodyguard turns out to be an assassin. He actually slowed down the footage to try and figure out what's going on, and you still can't follow what's happening.

You want a valid point? Here's one: Daniel Craig, the star of the film, said Quantum wasn't that good, mostly because of the writer's strike, which truth be told is a reasonable excuse. The script is just a jumbled mess. It's like there are scenes or pieces of dialog missing.

Like the big unanswered question in this movie: WHAT IS QUANTUM? At the end Greene tells Bond he told him everything about Quantum. But we, the audience, still don't know! If we're following the protagonist, then we should now know what he knows. We spent two hours with annoying chase sequences and wooden characters, I want to know about the organization that murdered his girlfriend. In the early films, we knew what SPECTRE was, I even think they spent too much time on them in FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE, but at least there, I know what's going on and it leads up to a great confrontation between Bond and Red Grant. There's no payoff at the end between him and Greene. We never see Mr. White again (yes I know about the alternate ending, but if it's not in the finished movie it doesn't change things). Take LICENSE TO KILL for example, very similar movie in tone and story: (Spoiler if you haven't seen the movie) after chasing the man who almost killed Felix and raped and killed his wife, Bond avenges his friends by burning the villain alive with the same lighter they gave him at the beginning. THAT is a great payoff!

Howabout just jumping between scenes without explaining things or any character development? Like... Why did Greene send someone to kill Camille only to forget about his plans immediately afterwards? Why is the CIA agreeing to kill Bond? Why would the CIA agree to kill an MI6 agent? Or Strawberry Fields, who is supposed to be bringing him back to London. Why is going along with him and helping him? It's like "I'm here to bring you back to London" and then she just follows him out of the airport. For that matter, what happened to her? The last time we saw her she "accidently" tripped someone, and now she's dead and covered in oil. Or M is telling Bond he's under arrest and after he escapes, she just lets him go. Why?

I can pretty much sum up this entire movie with the word: WHY?

And on top of that, there's just all these unnecessary scenes that don't add anything to the movie. Like the scene with Mathis dying. It could have been an emotional scene, but then you have to add that part where Bond throws his body in the trash and takes out his wallet. WHY? What is the point of this scene? He doesn't add anything to the story, it doesn't add to the drama, it just makes Bond look like a douche.

In a series that revolves around outrageous villainous plots, this relatively simple one is very hard to follow with all these undeveloped scenes and confusing action sequences. And it's just so BORING! My God it's boring. These characters have no personality, they belong in a Star Wars movie!

I'm sorry man, I've given you my case. If you still can't find a valid point after everything I just said, then we'll just have to agree to disagree.

QOS is my favourite Craig Bond, and pretty high up on any new list I make.
Sir Miles, why cannot some people here see that QOS is the 21st Century spiritual link to the 20th Century classic LTK? ?:)

Long live James Bond. Long live Daniel Craig.

Personally I don't like to think of any James Bond films as being the "worst"

We all have our favorites and least favorites but every 007 film is cool on some level.

Coincidentally, I was having a Bond conversation with this guy today and he said he watched QoS like 5 times and still has no clue what it was about.

PS- interesting note on Strawberry being her first name...I didn't know that.

I go off and on QOS, which I think is a good thing. Once I thought it was better then CR, other times I thought it suck S**t.
Which just proves Firemass's point, we all have favs, and that its hard to have a worst.
(Though DAD is defiantly, the worst and it is so damn awful I count it as swearing say that movie title)

There was an old thread from I think it was 2011, I made about the best bit in each Bond movie which was really fun and people were uplifting DAF and DAD.
If anyone wants to ressurect it, that'd be cool.
