Barbour x to ki STILL AVAILABLE

PhilweezerPhilweezer Posts: 68MI6 Agent
Hey guys,

I decided to call the Barbour stores in the US and they still have only a few left. I asked them to check the other stores and the only ones available were a large in soho (NY) and a small in Philly. There was an XL in Madison ave (NY) as well. Before you hurry to get one, please be aware of the size. I am 5'7, 160ish with a 38 chest. The reps were insisting that I was a size large when I normally wear smalls or sometimes medium. They even had a rep try it on and take a pic for me. He is 5'8 about 150's with also a 38 chest. I would upload it here but I can't seem to figure this thing out. I also chatted with Returningson and our measurements are similar but he got a medium and he says it fits great but the Barbour rep said it was too tight. We'll see, I'll let everyone know. If I don't like it, I'll return it and let you guys get an opportunity to snag it. Worst case, their rep did say they will release this again in the fall minus the hood and a lil bit cheaper. Anyways this my PSA, you're welcome...

Clarification, I bought the last size large at the Philly store so those other ones I mentioned are still available providing that no one snagged them since this afternoon.

I'm a 38/39 inch chest and wear a medium a little tight round the shoulders but the large which I have a swell just looks to baggy

So what did u end up doing? I do want it to fit snug but I don't want to look like it was painted on me like how DC wore his.

Ok I'm a moron, I guess I didn't see the "add image to post" link, but here is the person at the store who modeled it for me. His specs are in my first post.

looks a little baggy on the rep. If he was a member here I would have suggested that he go with a medium. Also, I assume that this is the DEBT B rerelease so sizing might be different (maybe they shyed away from the slimmer japanese sizing and standardized it? All I know if im 5'10, 160 and a medium fits me perfect.

I'm not sure what DEBT B means but they did say that they just got these awhile ago and they only received 10. Well I can always return it, they have a great return policy. I see maybe the midsection is a lil baggy but you can tailor that. The side profile doesn't seem that bad.

nevermind, its not the Debt B version but I still think it could be more fitted but thats IMHO

This looks like the ToKiTo jacket, not the Dept B jacket. The dept b doesn't come with the hood. That won't be out until Sept I think. Either way, the fit is preference. I could see a lot of people liking the fit as per the pics. To me, it could be more slim. I'm 6 ft, 155lbs, 38" chest, and I have the medium. I want the slim fit so it works. You may get the large and like the fit. You won't know until you try it on.

I keep having a bad feeling that the large won't work as well as I would hope. I'll see when I try it on whether or not tailoring would work. I've even contemplating on changing my order to a small and seeing if I can loosin it up a lil. I hate shopping for me...

I was in NY yesterday and visited the SoHo store at about 1:00 p.m. There was certainly no Sports jacket out on display and the clerk didn't mention having one when I asked to see all the To Ki To items. I don't know if that means that Philipweezer was given bad info or if it means that someone snagged it. Or maybe it's in the back and the clerk didn't know about it? Anyway, I'd call before making a special trip.

Yeah, I was there two weeks ago and they didn't have one. I'm actually really going down to Billy Reid to show them I actually got the peacoat (I'd been dropping in for like weeks now hahaha). I also like to get Ryan Gosling stuff down there.

It's in the area, so I'll defiantly report back!

I was texting with the rep out in the Philly store. I was trying to see if he could find medium in all the Barbour stores and this was his text...
"Yes I checked other stores and the only available were larges in my store and soho and small in my store. There was an XL in Madison ave as well."

Ok, sounds good. I'll be there around 4pm EST.

I called the Philly store again to see if I can switch to a S. A different rep said he has a 34" chest and he couldn't wear a S, he has to wear a M. So 3 Barbour reps said I was a Large, we'll see when I get it.

Hi, just throwing in my 2c worth, but the test for me in switching from a Medium to a Large was the "stance"! You all know it from the cover of Bond On Set, and yes I have copied it in front of the mirror! (minus Beretta)

I have a 40" chest and the M fit fine. But when I put my hand in the waist pocket, it was like doing it on a waistcoat. My hand was high up on my body and it was tight. With the L, it draped more like in the picture and was loose enough to position my arm like the picture.

Silly I know but that's how I realised the M for me was too fitted for me.

    Good luck with your sizing!

Just registered to post on this. I went to the soho store around the time they opened. Sales rep told me they didn't have any and that they were nationally sold out according to the item code lookup. Called Madison Sq garden store to check and they confirmed that Barbour Skyfall jackets were all long gone. There was a waiting list of over 150 people, when the actual allocation was less than 100... Soho store was cool to look around tho

Thanks man! I really appreciate it. I went to Billy Reid yesterday to show them I got the coat and it was cool to chat with them so the trip was not all lost haha.

Barbour is actually 6 minutes from there.

I feel bad even though I got it from the horse's mouth. The one I was able to purchase, in the Philly store, was told as a return. I'm wondering if those were return and then immediately gone.

No problem man, I had a nice chat with the rep and he told me some details about the new commander jacket so if anything I should be thanking you for the info. I do suspect there were some returns, although the store still had some people on the interested list. They should have gotten a flag as soon as the jacket became available again. You should consider yourself very lucky. If the large doesn't fit you, I'd be more than happy to take it off your hands at a cost.

What did they say about the Commander jacket? I've had mixed answers. A rep from one store said it will be exact as the movie and a rep from a different store said it will be similar with different additions to it. I wanted to know in case medium was my size and the large would be too big. I'll let u and mrbond5150 know if it doesn't work out. Personally I didn't care if it was the exact one, I was actually looking for a similar style jacket. Funny thing was I called the Philly store looking for a similar one and they said they actually had the Skyfall one. Call it dumb luck I guess. And yes the rep did say I was lucky to even get one since the volume of demand was off the charts. He is also the one who said the upcoming Commander would be the similar one.
  • harpenharpen Posts: 6MI6 Agent
He said it will only be similar as it was 'inspired' by the Skyfall modified jacket. Details are all there (leather cuff, button color and placement, back zipped pocket) but not 100% SA because of potential fit differences. I also asked if will come in the same worn olive color, and he said yes.
