Yes the Hamburg break-in outfit is one of my favourites too. Sadly the tie looks a little bit dated now, but I bought one in '97 when the film came out and was wearing right up until about 4-5 years ago.
What amuses me about this whole post is how it wouldn't exist if the character in the films dressed the way the character in the novels did. The novel Bond (which is really Fleming) dressed the way a conservative upper middle class Englishman did in the middle of the last century. It was all about quality and style - fashion was for the shallow and the youth.
The beginning of the series kept that conservative look thanks to Terence Young and the producers sticking with Fleming's version of his character. When the late 60's youth revolution took over the planet, they bowed a bit to keep Bond current and unfortunately had him sticking his feet into the fleeting whisps of fashion which was in retrospect, a really bad idea. Hence we got the ruffled shirt tux, white suit and brown golf outfit in OHMSS then the loud plaid jacket and that ridiculous pink tie in DAF. From then on, it never stopped until Dalton. Even then, they had to bow to the inevitability of modern dress being "leisure-ized". Dalton wears a leather coat and sweater when he picks up Kara - in the old days he would have still been in a suit and in the desert he goes to a polo and wind jacket (though not too far out for Bond - he wore one in DN and the novel Bond wore a windcheater). Brosnan wore conservative suits again, but I didn't like the Italian style on Bond (and though the ties were subdued they still seemed a bit to fashion minded for someone like Bond).
Craig is a mishmash for me. He has to dress down a lot because that's what men do today, but his choices sometimes still seem a bit out of character for me.
Most of his suits are fine, though I wish he'd have avoided the whole Tom Ford too small suit fashion in SF. He goes through too many changes of casual clothes for me. The whole thing about Bond was how few types of clothes he had. He never had anything with a print (outside his less formal - country only check suit).
It was black, white, navy, cream. The jeans Craig has in some scenes are okay (Bond wears jeans a few times in the novels - though I seriously doubt he would own a pair of cream colored ones). At least he sticks close to Bond's color range for the most part except when he does brown sometimes, though I realize it's to do with the fact he's blond and it works on him. However, I just think he has too many different types of coats, jackets, etc and that's seems more about advertising brands than Bond. For example, I have my peacoat from the Navy and it's one of my favorites, I just don't think Bond would have one (Navy Intel background or not).
The choice of foot gear over the series always bothered me as well. They started out fine with the proper loafers and occasionally the casual deck shoes, but they had to let the adverts creep in and had Bond wearing brogues(!), buckles, shoes with laces and ankle boots. Now Craig is donning athletic shoes and suede ankle boots. They are certainly practical for running through a jungle or St. Marks square, but I still miss the old days.
Was it in Thunderball Bond wears his navy suit with sandals? I still think Fleming either was drunk when he wrote that or was just trying to be flippant. If Bond had taken off his jacket and tie I suppose he could have gotten away with it..but fully dressed in a suit and then going next to being barefoot???

Fleming was perhaps not the best guy to turn to for fashion advice, which is ironic considering how Bond has become a fashion icon of sorts. All those safari shirt/suits that Roger Moore wore that everyone hates now? Well, get a load of this:
Yup, it's pure Fleming! At least Roger Moore didn't wear his belt on the outside! Do you think Fleming wore a second belt on his actual pants in order to hold them up? Honestly, I get more of a 'Frodo Baggins' vibe from that photo than 'James Bond'.
Favourites: Goldfinger - Connery's grey suit. It is the best. I also like TND's Hamburg break in/break out suit, really great. And of course the tuxedo!
Least Favourites: I am not a big fan of most of Roger Moore's tuxedos and suits, and I also don't like the Die Another Day army outfit during the plane fight.

Sorry late reply. I like DC's clothing. I wear the thin ties myself. Suits are a bit too tight, but overall good colours and of course great quality. I like suits quite tight myself, but the ones in Skyfall were a bit too much.
Suit: Brosnan’s Navy suit from the GoldenEye Tank chase – It looks like something the Literary Bond would wear (also, I think Brosnan was born with a suit).
Craig’s Summer/Linen suit from the Pre-credits Casino Royale scene. – Tropical brilliance.
Tactical/Combat: Brosnan’s Cuban assault gear – One of my favorite all time Bond Outfits
Dalton’s Pre-credits Gibraltar Tactical Gear. – What I’d imagine a typical 00 would wear on a combat/infiltration mission.
Casual: Craig’s Harrington and Jeans look from the Bolivian hotel assault from QoS – Awesome colours and bad ass tab collar.
Connery’s Night Camo/all black clothes from Thunderball – 60’s tacti-cool.
I always liked Bond's Bratislava oufit in TLD. I suspect Brosnan would have gone undercover behind the iron curtain in a flashy suit, but Dalton's clothes were stylsh yet blended in (eastern Europeans love leather jackets)
Pretty much anything Connery wears from Dr. No through You Only Live Twice.
Lazenby's gray suit is good in On Her Majesty's Secret Service, but too many of the other outfits are frilly to me.
I'm okay with some of Connery's outfits in Diamonds are Forever, the best being the brown plaid sport coat ensemble.
Most of Moore's outfits were awful, though part of that is just the 70s, and he doesn't look as bad suited up in the early films.
I thought they did a fine job with Dalton in The Living Daylights and less so in License to Kill.
Brosnan's suits were good but maybe owing to his model look, they all seemed pretty generic to me.
I like what they did with Craig in Casino Royale, with my favorite suit being the one he wears when arriving in the Bahamas. He looks good in Quantum of Solace, too.
The Tom Ford suits are essentially copies of those from the early to middle 1960s. Because they are fitted -- which a suit really should be -- I don't know that they flatter Craig's bulky fame well. They work better on a thinner man with wide shoulders because the cut is narrower. On him, the effect is to make him look shorter ans stockier. Of course, he director also chooses t to film him from the waist up or in close up most of the time, so that could also be the issue.
I liked Craig's casual clothes in Casrin Royale the best, especially what he wears when he plays against Dimitrios. His casual clothes in Quantum of Solace, with the exception of his Connery-esque outfit in Haiti, make him look older. I'm okay with the casual clothes in Skyfall, but they are the least inspiring to me and make him look rather like a common weekender who bought at the local department store.

4- SF Shanghai outfit: Billy Reid peacoat, John Smedley sweater, COS shirt and tie, Acne trousers, C&J Tetbury boots
5- SF lodge outfit: Barbour ToKiTo, Tom Ford cravat, Npeal sweater, All Saints cords, C&J Islay boots
I wouldn't know much about pre - Craig era outfits as I was too young to be interested in them, when the movies came out.
I don't like the Spectre Solden outfit but, who knows, it might grow on me iike the Enjoying death outfit did!
My two absolute favorite outfits are both in OHMSS. First, the light-grey suit with blue shirt and knitted tie, and second, the tux with the ruffled shirt. Lazenby wears all of his suits well, and they are tailored to be form-fitting with a shorter jacket, the way I like my suits (which is why I'm also a big fan of DC's suits in SF).
Roger Moore's suits get a lot of bad press 'round these parts, but I'd say that's mostly because the '70's style is just not in fashion right now. Personally I find many of Moore's suits to be pretty cool and retro. My favorites of his are the brown pants-tan jacket-brown tie number from LALD and the plaid sport jacket outfit from TMWTGG. I'd wear modified versions of either of these outfits any day.
The tan suit with white shirt and no tie warn by Dalton in TLD (followed by Brosnan in GE) is another one of my favorites. Though I must say I don't really like the rest of Dalton's wardrobe, especially in LTK. The casual wear in LTK is particularly bad.
Also not a huge fan of Brosnan's suits. Brosnan wears them well enough, but the '90's metro look just doesn't really do it for me. Just kinda looks like an unfashionable Dad suit to me now.
