If you want a decent fitted (Slim fit) Grey Sharkskin try the TM Lewin Portobello. Has slanted pockets and twin vent but its a fine summer suit with flat front trousers and they will add a cuff to the trouser bottoms.
I bought the navy blue sharkskin version of this last year in T M Lewin - it's been fantastic, I can't recommend it enough. Though TML gave frequent sales and you should be able to get it for even less before too long - I paid about £200 + a bit extra to have it tailored.
Well, Charmed & Dangerous, you were right. Suit was reduced further to £179.00 and I managed to obtain a discount code for a further 15% off. What's more my size came back in stock thus buying this suit for a grand total of £152.00.
One happy chap!
Many thanks to Bond44 for the heads up.
Excellent suggestion, too bad they're sold out of my size, 36R 30W, better luck next time I guess

Tip try phoning any of their main London stores they always have more suits in in the City more people wear them there o. Regular basis.
As for my other suggestions they were just that helpful sartorial advice take it or leave it I merely offered I up that you could dress in the style if two bonds for the price of one suit. As for the Navy suggestion I was the only navy suit they did with a waistcoat. But I believe they do more now. I use the herringbone for my end of CR look and drop the waistcoat for the on train Montenegro look ( adding a CT white strip shirt and TM tie as below)
As I said dressing in the style of Bond can be equally as pleasing to the eye and the pocket
Cheers

Yes CT's tie collection is quite nice, and self striped shirt with spotted tie is a pleasing mix of patterns.

Hi,
I haven't received mine yet, but ordered my normal size I usually take in a suit.
I bought my standard suit sizes, jacket was fine but the trousers were slim fit and tight on the plums so I went a size up for fear the usual size would look like I was wearing budgie smugglers
Of course it's down to taste
By the way if you buy in store make sure the trousers are the slim fit as they do a none slim fit version of the suit as well (Wentworth I think). I bought a spare pair of strides but got the wrong ones so will be visiting a tailors to get them adjusted
Don't forget to add the cuff/ turn up on the trousers as well
Cheers

Hi Sidders
Yes like Bond44 says, go for your regular sizing. The slim fit suits are just, uh, slimmer versions of the same size, ie they fit more snugly.
But if you can, visit a store to try one on - there are TML stores everywhere now...
Good luck!
Thanks for the insight Bond44
Really appreciate your help in this ...its going to help me avoid having headaches regarding the sizing issue
Cheers and thanks once again

Unfortunately the Lewin "Portobello" suit is out of stock and discontinued. I'd love any other recommendations for a similar suit; Lewin had other sharkskin suits but I didn't like the cut as much as the "Istanbul" suits (current ones have wider lapels, etc).

As suggested I would get to a local TM and try any slim fit strides at least you will then know what size works best for you when ordering
Have fun and I hope it works out for you!
