Does anybody here have an extra pair they are willing to part with?
Don't want to go through ebay if I don't have to. I can pay by paypal!

    Bond44,
I was hopeful to try and find a pair for around 180. to 200. USD but have had no luck yet.
If you're in the UK the conversion rate from Dollars to Pounds would inflate it tremendously even duty free.
But thaks for the offer mate!

$180-$200 probably isn't going to happen. You MAY be able find a second-hand pair on Ebay. I believe that the item is...

    Marko TF144 18V

No problem I thought the pound had dropped so far these days it was now 2 pounds to the dollar rather than the other way around :))

Some one did post a website that was in the USA that was selling them for about £140 on a Presidents Day deal (code Lincoln if i remember rightly) have a search you might find the post

    Good luck

    Mrgatsby

You were right the TF Marko's were not that much cheaper in duty free but they were cheaper than UK retail. As you had sowed the seed and I needed a pair for my trip heading for Far East (left my TF108's in the car - bugger). I bought a pair and very nice they are indeed. I will just have to do some creative accounting when I get home!

Next time you want something keep it to yourself it just cost me a fortune B-)

Good luck on your quest ( I have a second hand pair one nice previous owner ha ha)

    Cheers

You CAN get them on ebay for a little above that price and I believe they're legit.

No, it's actually about 1.60 dollars to the pound...the other way around. Have you been under a rock? :-P

No but I have been on a bloody long flight to Asia feels the same :D

Just slightly off topic and please indulge me I had the weirdest but most pleasant international flight ever. Previous post was sent from Departures after my visit to Duty Free. That was after 3 accidents on the motorway a 3 hour delay getting to the airport and missing my original flight due to weather and traffic. Yours truly missed check in by 10 mins and it took me 3.5 hours to do 60 miles obviously I was a little upset! (That's putting it mildly)

So after convincing the airline to book my on the next flight 4 hours later free of charge (Suit always helps) I settled on making the trip a pleasant one as best I could with low expectations.

I headed off for a hearty breakfast and passed through customs to Duty Free. Damn them you actually have to walk through the sunglasses to get to the lounge and mild curiousity turned into a purchase). There's more stay with me... On getting on the flight it was half empty so I acquired a while row of seats to myself (ok my day was getting a little better). Intent on getting my head down I flicked through the inflight mag which had Skyfall on the cover only to find March was James Bond special month :p So no chance of sleeping I had Skyfall and a choice of 6 other bond films across the years (CR, DAD, SPY WHO LOVED ME, DR NO, GOLFINGER to name but a few) in flight. Also they had docufilm Everything or Nothing (EON ring any bells) plus Top Gear 50 years of Bond Cars and the Graham norton show with JB, M and Silver. On top of this my colleague from USA was also on the same flight his name Thiago Rodrigues! ( ring any bells Mr Silver)

A 12 hour trip has never gone so fast and you could not have made this up if you wanted too! B-)

Hear is a snap of my new purchase

Off to dinner with Mr Silver oops Rodrigues and the real funny thing he missed all the Bond stuff as he slept and did not even know his name was in Skyfall - time for a back brief I think - Vesper anyone :))

    Cheers

Great story Bond44. I was also recently on a long-haul flight to the Middle East and they had about 8 Bond movies on the inflight entertainment system, although sadly not Skyfall. Still, I downed a glass or two of Bolly and caught a couple of movies before sleeping!

Awesome! I got the TF207's (literally almost identical to the tf108's) for that price. I love them. Too bad it's been so rainy this month I haven't gotten a chance to wear them. Really makes me want to sell more of my props to get the Barbour

    Great story Bond44!

    Hi Guys

The glasses are really cool (definately darker lenses than my TF108's though) cost was £160 (£30 under RRP according to sales rep)

I have been wearing them about town today between meetings (throw in the light grey slim fit sharkskin suit, a slim fit white shirt with tie bar, light grey tie and PO on my wrist) and i must admit to feeling rather dapper this morning :007)

Taking a short cut back to the hotel some random lady came up to me in a store and asked me if I was British to which I answered 'of course can't you tell' no idea where she got that impression from I guess Bond style is now seen as classic British dress (or maybe because I was the only European face and at 5ft 8ins the tallest dude in town bar far!). This has to be the funniest trip ever :D

Got a couple of hours down time tomorrow so it's Navy Sunspel all the way with light khaki chinos and DB's (thereafter a dip in the pool in my setters before heading back to the office suited and booted once again) - its kind of a shame I have to work and host meetings over here B-)

Further good news there is a La Perla shop in duty free here I spotted on the way in (swimming trunks anyone?) around which I will of course need to take a browse before coming home on another Bond movie filled 14 hour flight - seriously you could not make this up Bond influence is everywhere we just don't know it - I am not going to forget this trip in a hurry.

    Cheers

may have to have a look myself when im in term 3 dubai,, duty free is huge there,,

    Definately worth a look.

As I said before someone did post a US link that was offering a Presidents Day deal I worked out that was approx £145 but I would have got taxed on VAT so my purchase this week was about the same in reality.

I doubt you will regret your investment (let's face if the TF108's are going for £400 on ebay for glasses 4 years old)

    Cheers
