Sizing issue

Hey guys, just a quick post. I've had one wild week collecting Bond and this QoS harrington from Magnoli came in today. Tried it on and I wasn't sure if it was a good fit (maybe too short) or not. I'm not sure a tailor could do much about the size, but everything else fits great besides the legnth. The material is great and I love the combo with my TF207.

Yeah, totally agree. I don't think there's much to do but I don't think I look THAT much of an idiot in it haha.

Haha, never too late to lose it! I've been knocking myself out to get in better shape.

Yeah, that should be a few inches longer, but some people wear jackets short. Since the sleeves aren't short, it can pass as a fashion choice.

I'm thinking about getting one of these. How tall are you and how do you find it quality wise?I just got a CR leather jacket from him that I'm delighted with.

I love Indy and this jacket is no exception. The material feels very luxurious. The liner is amazing. I'm 6'1" which probably is why this came out too short for me. Besides my dad really breaking my chops about it, I'm still going to wear it.

Haha, he kept saying in a high voice "That makes you look like a baby" and "That fits like a woman's jacket." I was hoping he'd say "You're smaller than I remember [in that jacket]" but he didn't.

Really I do feel terrible about it, I hope I can wear it. I guess I could always list it for sale here, haha.

TheExit, not sure, I'll go measure it.

It looks like the bottom finish is pretty simple. Is there extra material down there? You may be able to let it out by approximately an inch without many worries.

Cheapest answer - buy mid-rise jeans instead of low-rise jeans to create the illusion the jacket is a little longer.

Next best answer - get a tailor to let out a little bit of material at the bottom - even an inch will make a huge difference although that little bit will be "unfastened" with your current zipper.

Best answer - get a tailor to add a panel to the bottom to make it a a screen accurate length, and replace the zipper with one which is long enough. I have a similar jacket and there's a two-inch panel all around the bottom of the jacket; it's somewhat similar to how these jackets look with the ribbed/elasticized bottom except that it's the same material as the rest of the jacket.

I don't think the jacket looks terrible, it's a similar construction to the Menlo in terms of sleeve to body length. It really depends on how screen accurate you want it to look and if it's important enough to spend money on.

All good advice, I would think any good tailor or seamstress should be abe to sort you out.

Finding a 'good one' is my main problem.

Thanks guys for the advice. I'm trying to do the illusion with the jeans, working OK but still noticeable (to me haha).

I'm going to bring it to the tailor tomorrow since I really love the jacket. Really, if anyone is on the fence (not to sound like a commercial), go for it.

There is some extra material on the band on the inside, so maybe they can use that.
    Updates soon!

Got it back from the tailor today after lengthening it without any seam. Improvement!

Thanks man! I realized you can't get the Bond look unless you have the bond body :)) :)) (more so with this jacket and the Levi's)
