Moonraker - the "love it or hate it" jewel in the crown of the Bond canon. I can understand people not liking it because of the outer space element, but I for one love it.
You know exactly when the Tarzan yell is coming so put it on mute for those 5 seconds and you have nothing to complain about. Bond is also a spy so it makes perfect sense that he would dress up like a clown to get into the circus.
The movie has great locations and some great action scenes. It also has one of my favorite lines.
"This is for my brother."
Bond kills him
"And that was for 009."
Others that I do really enjoy are YOLT, LALD, TMWTGG, OP, AVTAK and QoS. None of these really receive praise from everyone but are all great Bond films. YOLT is definitely fun and the shoot out in the volcano lair is fantastic. LALD, to me, is just pure greatness - can't understand why people don't like that one apart from when Kananga inflates. TMWTGG is interesting, a nice change from your usual Bond and a whole lot of fun..certainly not boring because 'Bond doesn't do anything'. OP is pure greatness too, probably one of the best Moore films and one of the most tense in the entire series. AVTAK only really misses out on praise because of Moores age and the lack of effort in the stunt doubling which usually over powers comments about how genuinely good the film is. And QoS is a fast paced revenge story that I just cant help but love!
I feel sorry for all the Bond fans who are missing out!

Many fans disliked AVTAK.
I thought all Bond films were universally loved. )
1 - Moore, 2 - Dalton, 3 - Craig, 4 - Connery, 5 - Brosnan, 6 - Lazenby
I just wish he had a real enemy to fight and that Quantum were central the plot.
'Most watched' is a whole different story too!
Licence To Kill is one of those movies that everyone loves to defend - cause it's so easy to! Great movie.
My pet peeve is people dissing TMWTGG, I love the freakin' movie to death. Easily the equal of TSWLM or OP in my book. Just a smaller movie with a smaller body count.

I think I'm with you on that. Recently I've been starting to really like YOLT. Connery isn't at his best but it's still a fine performance.
Lois Chiles is pretty dull to me despite being absolutely beautiful. And yes, Jaws really does ruin the film and I'm not even talking about the love thing. There was just too many-an action sequence ruined by Jaws pulling a silly face and crashing into something. The 3 that spring to mind are the PTS, the cable car scene and the boat chase - all with great potential to be tense and exciting but ruined at the final hurdle by force fed comedy that is just plain stupid and annoying. The only benefit from these scenes being ruined is that the space thing at the end actually does come across as exciting and tense especially when Bond has to destroy the globes. The whole mood is pretty much ruined by the Jaws love interest thing though and the "Well, here's to us" line is absolutely diabolical but I suppose it's not the end of the world. I just feel Moonraker isn't sure what it wants to be a real tense movie or a comedy. There's some amazing scenes for example the centrifuge chamber and the hunting scene which ends on a very dark note - the dog's attacking. All pretty exciting and dark especially mixed with Lonsdales extremely cold portrayal of Drax, but then next minute Jaws is pulling the steering wheel off a boat and going over a waterfall making some ridiculous face. When it's great its really great but when it's bad it is the absolute worst. And the bad bits really make it hard for me to enjoy the movie as a whole.
