I enjoy all of Jaws scenes in Moonraker with the exception of flapping wings in the PTS. In fact, I can't imagine Moonraker without Jaws...it's all part of the fun.

Dolly is eehh unfortunate, but her screen time is so limited that I barely notice her. Just be happy for Jaws! :)
Apparently his wife in real life is about the same size.

I personally love TND, I think it's Pierce's best 007 movie but I think most people prefer Goldeneye or TWINE.

I'm glad to see so many beginning to appreciate YOLT, an unfairly maligned entry in the series.
    Damn that Mike Meyers.

I also hate all the complaining about Connery's acting in YOLT i thought it was at least fine

Too true, my friends, too true(BL, it's great how much we DO agree on, ain't it? When are we going for that pint? {[] ) I think YOLT is a fun movie. Actually the only parts I have trouble with in the whole movie is Donald Pleasence as Blofeld and SC as an Oriental(reminds me a little too much of John Wayne playing Genghis Khan!)

Another movie that gets a bad rap, IMHO, is DAD. I know, I know, the tsunami surfing, the ice palace, the invisible car, blah, blah, blah. But there is also so much good about this film! The fencing fight alone is worth watching it for. The sheer level of personal hatred which G. Graves (real name escapes me at the moment)holds for Bond is palpable. Miranda Frost is gorgeous, as is Jinx. And a Henchman with diamond shrapnel stuck in his face? Are you kidding me? How cool is that?

And really, why is an invisible car a problem? If the Top Gear tech lab can build a prototype IRL, why couldn't an imaginary Q branch? Or are we saying that an invisible car is less believable than a laser in a wristwatch(GE), a saw in a watch(LALD), or a rocket gun(YOLT)? Is an Ice Palace more unbelievable than a hollow volcano, or a hidden space station, or an underwater city? Is a solar laser harder to conceive of than a nuke in Fort Knox, or the solar laser from DAF, or an orchid based toxin wiping out the Human race, or any of the other OTT weapons we've seen Bond deal with?

Is it more unbelievable or are we as an audience growing more jaded?

I think it was the sheer preponderance of OTT stuff, especially after the car; it just seemed to dogpile on the story.

I guess I just consider it a throwback to olden days, and appreciate it as such. I enjoy it every time I watch it. I know that it's corny, but I like it.

I've recently come to the realization that it's actually not the steaming pile so many say it is. It's really just the radical change in tone that I think puts most off. It starts as perhaps Brosnan's most serious movie, and ends being OTT comic-book action. More serious than MR's first half, yet nowhere near as silly as it last.
I think now that it is THE most under-rated Bond movie presently.

I find most criticisms of Die Another Day to be right on point. However, the film is not a total loss and the good far outweighs the bad. Definitely a mixed bag, but as a Brosnan fan I find it most enjoyable. I grew up with PB as Bond so I have a soft spot for all 4 of his 007 films. I mean, it never even occurred to me that Tomorrow Never Dies might be "disliked" until I registered on AJB.

ME TOO!! Until I rediscovered Dalton, TND was my favourite Bond movie ever!
An whoah, go to MI6 to see a whole new level of Brosnan hate; they (with enlightened individual exception) seem to think ALL his movies suck! :o :s :))

It seems to go in cycles. I remember when LTK came out and the popular opinion was that it was deeply flawed. Many critics, it seemed, wanted to jump on the band wagon and call it a failure. Then PB came along and "Resurrected" the franchise. When DAD was released it was hailed in the media as the Best Bond Ever. Now that EOS has gone with Craig in it's new direction, DAD is terrible and SF is the BBE. I'm not saying anybody here is falling for that kind of bandwagon mentality, but I do think DAD gets a bad rap.

All I can say, therefore, is I cannot be called a professional critic, but I enjoy DAD from PTS to end credits.

    From 2002:
Die may not be the best James Bond film — how could it be, since Sean Connery isn't in it? But Pierce Brosnan, in his fourth time at bat, finally finds the right note of killer charm. And Halle Berry does wonders for a bikini, just like the one that almost covered Ursula Andress in the first Bond film, Dr. No. It's orgasm time for 007 freaks.
