Don't let a 3 second monolog ruin the entire film for you. :007)
If you can tolerate JW Pepper in TMWTGG I'm sure you can also get over Jaws and Dolly being an item. :x
I do agree with the fact that the whole Jaws love thing made moon raker a weak bond movie i have just got too many memories of it for anything to ruin it for me.
"You know what's great about you English Octopussy man I must seen that movie, Twice" -the simpsons
Moonraker can be fun, but it is just tooooo much for a Bond film, like DAD.
Top Ten Bond - 10:Goldfinger 9:Thunderball 8:The Spy who Loved Me 7:For Your Eyes Only 6: Casino Royale 5:The Man with the Golden Gun 4:Quantum of Solace 3:Licence to Kill 2:Goldeneye 1:The Living Daylights
For me it's the The Man With The Golden Gun! I really can't figure out why this movie always gets listed as Moore's worst or THE worst! The movie obviously has flaws, but then again I think most Bond movies have flaws if you really start to nitpick at them. Yes, Goodnight is too daft. Yes, it makes no sense for Bond to be rescued from the Karate School only to be left behind. But the interchange between Moore and Lee is fantastic. The car chase is incredible (mute the slide whistle if you need to) Moore as Bond really gives a great performance! I think the scene with Lazar, the scene in the dancer's dressing room, and even the fight at the Karate school are just really well done. I think the scene with Maud Adams where he threatens to break her arm works because even though THIS Bond may not take pleasure in hurting her he NEEDS the information she has to get to Scaramanga before Scaramanga gets to him! If I have any major issues with this movie it's that the solex should have gotten destroyed somewhere in the 3rd act resulting in the inevitable explosion and the showdown between Bond and Scarmanaga should have been pushed toward the end of the movie.

That's a really good idea.
And I love this movie too. -{
it seems most of the contributors here do not like DAD,
not even in chrisisalls top 12,
but i like it, it has cigars, mojitos, Cuba, ok so it has a far fetched invisible car
i would pack it on my desert island inventory

Thanks! It seems like a no-brainer to me. We didn't solve the energy crisis in the real world or in the Bond universe so what happened to the Solex? It almost seems like a plot hole not to have destroyed it. And the tension, interchange, between Bond and Scaramanaga are the highlight so it just always seems he gets killed off to soon and then the focus goes to the less interesting plot line. Still I think TMWTGG is a pretty enjoyable film. I have a tough time ranking them because I pretty much enjoy them all but there are several that I would rank behind TMWTGG.

You only live twice and the man with the golden gun sre my guilty pleasures. I actually rank YOLT quite high. TMWTGG not o high, yet I watched it a lot. Both have rediculous plots, but awesome locations and villains. It is over the top yet very likeable.
Coming to think of it, even my bottom Bond films I have watched and enjoyed on numerous occassions: DAD and DAF. -{
Funny, a bunch of years ago I got into a snit about how Bond seemed not so upset at Aki's death and vowed never to watch that 'misogynist trash' again (I really really liked Aki).
A few months ago I broke down & got a cheap DVD from eBay.
Now it's one of my 3 favourite Connerys. -{
Same here, loved Aki, one of my favourite Bond girls. Much better than Kissy was.
Good to see other liiking YOLT. It is over the top, and maybe started the curse of the other over the top Bonds to follow, yet I love it with a deep passion.
I still visit the New Otani often here in Tokyo (the Osato office) to get the YOLT feeling. Its amazing! Unfortunately Himeji castle (Ninja training) is currently under construction and blocked by a giant poster wall.
To paraphrase Roger Moore, "Killing Aki was a mistake."
Definitely the low point of YOLT for me, along with the marriage ceremony and Japanese conversion. Aside from that I find it to be an amazing and fun film. Thankfully Lewis Gilbert re-made it twice with better results. IMO.
My current 10 favorite:
1. GE 2. MR 3. OP 4. TMWTGG 5. TSWLM 6. TND 7. TWINE 8.DN 9. GF 10. AVTAK
QOS for me.
It has its flaws (Poor editing in parts) but i just love it and think its gets jumped upon by Bond fanbase to harshly.
Craig is excellent as Bond, to see our hero on the edge is a nice change from the Cool suave secret agent Brosnan,Moore,Connery play. Makes him more human. Yes the villian isn't exactly dangerous or OTT like past Bond villians but Amarlic is a slimy little **** you can't wait for Bond to get his hands on him. Kurylenko is one of the most interesting Bond Girls but Gemma Artherton who i don't rate as an actress is crap really. Jeffery Wright is great Leiter and here's hoping he;s bought back into the next Bond Film. The first 25 minutes are some of the best action in any Bond film. The opera house scene is excellent. But the real star of the film is Giancarlo Giannini as Mathis, he's the heart of the film and his death scene is one of the most touching and heartbreaking scenes in the Bond series. Great Bond film, i have it at number 9 in my best Bond films.

) I thought that was stupid as well. why did they have Jaws fall in love anyway.
just a daft plot device from the writers to make him change sides
