I'm a little too short for it. I'm a little over 5'10", and Bond should be 6'+ IMO. And I'm a bit young, two months shy of 31. I can do an arse-kicking British accent however.
The local theater is doing Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, so for the past four months, I've been busting my @ss weightlifting to audition for the Brick role. I was 230 when I started, now I'm back down to 187, so physically, I'm a match. Certainly not DC in CR, but then, Bond should look like he can win a fight, not Mr. Universe. (Again, IMO).
I got the role, BTW.

I just did a musical. I played the best man of one of the characters who was getting married, so for 75 percent of the play, I was in a full tuxedo (Double-breasted, and I personally owned it, so it was a correct fit and not something tacky from the costume room) The actor who played my role on Broadway kind of sounded like Gilbert Gottfried. I neither look, nor sound, like him, and I didn't want to mimic the prior actor. The character is dealing with issues complicating the wedding, and by the end, he's the best man of four couples who have all decided to marry before the show ends. I had done all three of the past shows, and was going to pass on this one, but in two of the last three shows I've done, I've played a character named George. And the best man's name was George in the musical, so I had to do it.
We are both Dalton fans, so I suggested a more and more exasperated Welsh accent as the crap kept piling up for the character as a lark, a little James Bond tribute since I was already wearing a full tuxedo and because I figured it was about as far removed from Gilbert Gottfried as I could get. And frankly, Welsh is a hell of a lot easier to mimic than shcotisth, and I certainly didn't want to do a Sean Connery parody.
I tried the Welsh out at one of the rehearsals, and it worked., and the director gave me approval. It was quite fun, though I had to restrain myself from doing a gunbarrel pose at curtain call.....

Firstly, he doesn't have dark hair, and secondly, he's not British. Yes, we've had two previous non-British Bonds (Lazenby and Brosnan), but I'd like to think that they're the exception rather than the rule.
Even if he were to dye his hair black and puts on a British accent that's good enough to be indistinguishable from a native Brit's, I don't believe he looks anything like the Bond that Fleming described, while Connery, Dalton and Brosnan do.

Not "strongly against", but I have a "strong preference" for a Brit to do it.
They should hire the best British actor for the job, with the qualifier being that they must look something like the Bond that Fleming described in his novels, must be able to act the role according to the characteristics of James Bond as prescribed in the Fleming novels.
If there are no British actors that fit this bill, then I'm happy for an actor outside of Britain to fill the role, provided, of course, that they can pull off a British accent that's indistinguishable from that of a native speaker.

Dalton was 43 in 1987 and Brosnan was 42 in 1995. But aside from that, the other three Bond actors had been younger when making their Bond debuts.
Personally, I think the "ideal" age for playing Bond would be mid to late 30s.
Well, if you look like Bond, and your portrayal of Bond is similar to Dalton's, I'd be all for it
