Despite the fact, that this is just the best photo of James Bond I've ever seen, I was just wondering if anybody came across this tie somewhere.

I'm not sure it is the pts tie. It looks a little "too gray" but I could be wrong, could be the lighting.

It's definitely not the Istanbul tie. It has a completely different pattern.

I'm sure it's just the photo, but it looks to me like suiting fabric. I've seen wool and even cotton ties that look like that. But patterned ties can look completely different depending on distance, angle and lighting.

Thought so. In the image you posted, it looks like the pattern goes in a diagonal pattern.

It looks like a simple grey wool tie, but it's never that simple.

    EDIT:

It's tough to tell from that distance, but it does look like a wool tie, and I like it more than the one that's actually in the movie still.

If I remember correctly on the Skyfall extras blu ray I believe there is a DC interview during the PTS shoot, he is wearing a diff tie. It's like they changed their mind at the last min with regards to ties, strange

Trying to watch it on my phone, but it's a little grainy. Is it a wool tie?

The tie is a black and grey check. It's not smooth and shiny, but a wool tie would be a horrible choice for a pick-and-pick suit in warm weather. It could be shantung silk, which is very fitting for the climate.

Any chance it's the tie from the final scene?

It's interesting, I just noticed this tie last night when watching the special features on the SF Blu-ray. I think the tie used in the film looks much better than this one.

The tie in the final scene may have a slighly finer check. It also have a more uniform appearance than this tie does.

I agree that the tie in the film is much nicer.

perhaps that tie was worn for the gunbarrel scene?

The the photos of the gunbarrel shoot aren't the best to tell what the clothes are, but it looked like that the outfit was the same as the one in the final scene of the film. It not unusual for different ties to be seen in stills. We saw a lot of that especially in the stills for GoldenEye. And I remember those being some very ugly ties!

Depends on the ladies Paul! I did an interview with Daniela Bianchi a few weeks ago and one of my questions was what she thought of him, she had a few good things to say... I can tell you though Attractive was not one of them though.

If you starred in a blockbuster movie, ladies would like you too. I don't know what you look like, but I can almost guarantee that. With that being said, he's a decent-looking guy. Ladies like a ripped man as much as we like a girl with tight curves.

I think that in CR and QOS he was a very dashing fellow. But in SF the 'Marine' crew cut has really aged him.

There were men more handsome than Steve McQueen, but there was an unmistakable quality to him that made him who he was. I believe that Daniel Craig has that same quality. It has very little to do with his looks. That aside; I think he's a handsome man. If further discussion is needed, we could create a thread regarding whether or not Daniel Craig is good looking.

Please tell me you didn't just try and say steve mcqueen and Daniel Craig are similar. He is not handsome certainly not enough for Bond, regardless of how good a job he has done. Aside from that Mcqueen had personality in real life and DC does not, his interviews are the most Bland and downright boring monotone. I truly think he has a great physical quality which is what was missing for a long times, but what people are overblowing is that the whole success of the new movies are down to him. Whereas it is the style of the movie that changed drastically too, from surfing on tsunami in Brosnan's outings to CR a gritty, realistic and relevant Bond. I truly think that as much as I like DC, that one thing he has done is prove what was said to Lazenby ....you could put anyone in that role and make him Bond. I feel that in the looks department, DC has proved that, a haircut a tux and a martini BAM suddenly a guy who looks like a Rubber Putin Halloween mask has become "handsome". However you are right the good things he adds to Bond have absoloutely nothing to do with his looks.

Even though looks are subjective, i (as a straight male) can see why girls would like DC in that hes very masculine and has that "rugged" appearance and having his body and eyes certainly help. That said there are times throughout his Bond films, especially CR, where he either looks really good or he looks so bad that i cant believe he was ever chosen for Bond. like in this scene, but we all have our bad days. http://screenmusings.org/CasinoRoyale/pages/CR_0945.htm
