After Licence to kill there planned The property of a ;lady with Dalton, but there where some problems with rights etc. But , maybe somebpody know, are there some scenes, pilots, trailers, teaser, anything, made? I read somewher, that the project failed after some months, so they had to do something. You think there is some unreleased material from The property of a lady?

Thanks for the great links. I'll enjoy reading all material related to TPOAL. Sad it never came to pass in 1991 or 1993.

Does anyone know if the folks at EON have given any thought to using some of the unfilmed TPOAL plot and ideas for the next (or subsequent) Daniel Craig Bond film? Or at least the title?

Weren't there meant to be robots provided by the Disney Imagineers in Timothy Dalton's projected The Property of A Lady?

I'd really love to hear more about this. Will have to check out the links provided...

If this went ahead does that mean Dalton would of stuck around for all of Brosnan's films? It says in one of those MI6-HQ pages that he left because it was taking so long to get the process started. Granted he would of been a bit old near the end of the Brosnan films we did have Moore as an older Bond.

Also why would Dalton leave the Bond franchise over it? He could of signed to do another one and just done movies in between whilst he waited for another Bond movie to come out. I hear the EON people are okay with actors doing other projects in between the films. Surely Dalton as Bond is worth more than Dalton by himself?

He was offered to play in Goldeneye but he denied. His decision, I think he was great Bond, he should have accepted it, but Brosnan was very good too, so well...

Right. Craig between QoS and SF played in Cowboys vs. Aliens and in A girl with a dragon tattoo.

Think, guys. We can't compare the human and the actor. All the more, we can't compare the human and the character the actor played.

    Sorry if I misunderstood smth.

There was no issue with Dalton doing projects between Bond films. He gave some really good performances as a dying cancer victim and of course, the dastardly Neville Sinclair I think one of the issues was that it wasn't like they finished LTK and had no contact with him, they told him nearly every year that this was going to be the year of the next Bond film. He'd gear up for it, and then it would never come to pass. That would get tiring after 6 years.

Also, he was 50 around the time Goldeneye was to be made. He still looked the part, but personally, I think he found himself too old for it.

Well... I think Dalton should have played Bond in OHMSS, maybe he was young, but in my opinion, all Bond actors should have be chosen a little younger, maybe then they can play longer.

He's said in interviews after the legal problems were settled he wanted to come back just for GoldenEye, and no more. Cubby wanted him to commit for 4 or 5 more since the series was starting again after such a long gap, hence why Tim respectfully declined.
I believe had we gotten Bond 17 in '91/'92, he would have continued for a 4th and possibly a 5th. Sadly we can only speculate now.

Cubby was under pressure from MGM to fire Dalton because the US market responded badly on him.
So what ever would have happend, I am pretty sure that Dalton would not have done more than one more Bond.

During the Timothy Dalton segment for the documentary film Everything Or Nothing: The Untold Story of 007, many former MGM/UA people said that in addition to the legal issues money woes also grounded Dalton's third movie. I also recall reading somewhere online that going into 1990 MGM/UA was not doing well financially at all, Rocky V especially was big bomb upon its release. While I do not claim to be an expert in finance, a lot of the proposed ideas for The Property Of A Lady likely would been really expensive to film by 1990's standards if you ask me.

It is interesting to note that one of the ideas pitched for the film was the destruction of the Aston Martin DB5, which was done in Skyfall. Also the book, The Making of The Living Daylights details a lot of the proposed ideas for Dalton's third movie in its later chapters.
