Questions about Skyfall clothing? Click Here Immediately!

Hi guys; good news! I've landed an interview with Jany Temime (the costume designer from Skyfall).

I'm going to ask questions about the sartorial choices/designs and how they relate to the themes in the movie.

I think this will be a great opportunity to get some of our questions answered, so I want to open up a discussion with the forum.

What questions would you want answered?

lol, Ask him if he thinks Craig's Tokito limited edition lodge jacket should still be considered a Tokito after his complete overhaul of it?
Not trying to be smart, I think you should ask!

im serious about the sizing question. We know his BR was medium (large for action/stunt scenes) and his levis lvc medium (only logical sizing option and pretty much agreed upon consensus). We dont know if he wore a medium or large altered barbour.

I'd be interested to hear what was the "vibe" they were going for, in their own words, in two of the more iconic yet somewhat unusual wardrobes - Shanghai and Enjoying Death. We usually think of Bond in expensive suits, tuxes and less so in more casual clothes. Given how accessible these looks are to mortals and folks that would look out of place wearing a Tom ford suit to work, deconstructing the thinking behind those choices is particularly interesting.

Those outfits are so emulated, I'm interested in what was going through their heads for the look they were going for. Then also, what drew them to the zara shirt, the topman chinos, the smedley jumper, the acne pants, the tetbury and zara boots. For instance, why the zara desert boots rather than clarks.

Most of us would like to get to the point we can put together a Bond look for any occasion, without one to one emulating a movie costume, so this kind of info could prove instructional.

I would like to know if the ties in the movie were custom made or custom ordered, since it appears that they are near impossible to find even in the standard width, and non-existant in narrow.

Also, see if she has the ins with TF and see if he'd be willing to make some more.... yes?

Great suggestions so far; keep em' coming!

Jon Courage; great question. I'll include that.

I'm also going to ask how the clothing reflects the arc of the character. If you notice, the suits and ties get darker as the movie goes on. The descent of Bond back to earth?

I don't know about asking for tagged sizing though; that might be off topic.

From a production standpoint, I'm going to ask how many ties were chosen before they reduced it to to the 4 seen in the movie. Same thing with suit swatches. And how did they finally decide on which ones to keep?

Also, why a single vent and thin lapels? A more American look?

And I have to ask about Ralph Fiennes' wardrobe.

And yes rebenton, will ask about the ties!

Would you ask her: When designing the costumes , did they follow Daniel Craigs advice, or was it Daniel Craig had to follow Her teams decision, Did DC have a big say in the costumes did he help pick and choose? How big was DC's personal input involved in the costumes
Yes i did ride the CAT

Did Daniel Craig keep any of his costume pieces from the movie?

Also, were any items borrowed from his own personal wardrobe (e.g. Adidas Gazelles, TF Marko sunglasses)?

Ask which company did she use for the track pants during his workout sequence.

Not trying to be a smart ass... but why are so many people so obsessed with knowing what size clothing Daniel Craig wore ? What difference does it make ?

Can't other people think of better questions to ask than where everything came from?

    1. I'd like the know the reason behind her choosing a tab collar for Bond and, like you said, the single vents.

    2. How much input did Tom Ford have in the wardrobe? What choices in particular were his?

    3. Are the too-small suits chosen only to follow current fashions, or is there a reason in the story for that choice? I know she has said before it's to show off Craig's muscles, but there's no way to tell the difference between muscle tone and fat under a tailored garment.

    4. What was the process for sourcing the casual (non-Tom Ford) items?

    5. Was the Shanghai outfit supposed to be a limo driver's uniform?

    6. What type of image were you going for with Ralph Fiennes' clothing?

I'd like to know, what's the story behind the Titanium Omega PO.

Eon auctioned a prop Ti PO (unique piece) in december but this watch does not exist in the Omega product range in that dial color.
So why did they provide such a one - off for the production?

Very easy: I usually buy 007 clothing twice - once in my personal size and one in DC's size for maximum accuracy ;)

You could ask them what they did with the internal storm flap on the Tokito jacket as I've been wearing mine for months and it's really beginning to irritate the **** out of me!

From a purely practical point of view, I will be the third to ask about the sweatpants in the MI6 training sequence.

One thing that I'm curious about is her involvement with Deakins. Does she consult with him about how the clothes will look different on screen once he has chosen how to alter the colours in post-production? Or does she choose colours based on how they look in the real world because she isn't consulted on how they will look in the end product?

    Shanghai

The Shanghai outfit was a limo driver's outfit; just saw it mentioned in a GQ interview.

I'm sorry, but I'm going to ask where something came from too, unless she has already confirmed it. The chinos were supposedly Topman, but the chinos everybody said were the 'ones' lacked some things like a double belt loop, etc. Though I suppose the chinos could have been from the film, and they added the double belt loop in. Just bugged me because the chinos everybody said were the ones, well, weren't...or at least it appeared like it to me...
