Last year had some friends over for dinner and had a Bond evening: martinis and champagne (Bollinger naturally), smoked salmon, followed by lamb cutlets ( I think these were in the novel Moonraker from memory), caviar ( the inexpensive kind) with the salmon, new potatoes and peas with the lamb.
Not that keep that lot at home on the off chance though... 8-)
No, from Asda.... how un-Bondlike
I'm not sure Fleming would have been at home citing that Bond had his Value eggs fresh from The supermarket served in a chipped child's eggcup and dippy soldiers... )
In a more Bondian fashion, I am currently engaged in the "consumption of... half a bottle of spirits" albeit not on a daily basis. (Basically cos I was the designated driver when out earlier and had to drink cola while my pals happily ordered drinks).
Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!
I think it was in the novel Moonraker that Bond dropped black peppercorns
into cheap vodka to remove the oil deposits from it. I tried to do that to the
wife's Smirnoff once and she thought I'd gone loopy !
just read your reply ,and ran to kitchen to see if my blue mountain coffee was safe ,no its gone,
asked wife where has she put it,reply oh i made a tiramisu out of it for the girls DOH!!
I guess you're not in the UK (the Amish butter is a bit of a give away) but the jam is about £2 (USD3) a jar here... Possibly the only Bond-related item which is actually cheaper in the UK than in the US? 8-)
Was starving when I came home from work yesterday. Cba to gym so just scrambled three eggs and had them wit the last of the smoked salmon from the weekend.
Unlike our hero I don't drink alcohol in the week, but other than that I think this was a very Bondian snack!

and had some ham sandwiches and tea. So I've had that many times.
( Not from the R.A.F though, )
Is she still alive?

OMG - one sympathizes!
That sounds so much better....Little Scarlett is about $24 on Amazon and in the few
places that carry it hear they charge about $18!
I bought some Morans. I have five other hens as well - all sorts. I couldn't tell the difference for a billion pounds. Just Fleming being pompous again...
Other than that, I cook steak with Bernaise sauce, scrambled egg and bacon, lamb chops with peas and new potatoes - but that's just good food I suppose. I also eat a lot of cold roast beef and potato salad. Fleming in particular had a few weird ideas of food, like his avocado pear for dessert - he simply read about this and thought it a sweet fruit. I used to buy Bollinger to toast special occasions, and Dom Perignon a few times. Then I realised that £10 prosseco from Sainsburys tasted so much better...
