Church's Ryder 3 sizing inquiry

Hey there fellow fans, recently I've gotten bit by this Bond bug for the clothing and style.

Anyways I'm going to purchase a pair of the Ryder 3 boot seen in QoS and I wanted to find out about the sizing before I pulled the trigger.

I'll be buying it in a F fit, and I take a US size 8-8.5. I'm torn on getting the boots in a UK size 7.5 or UK size 8, could anyone give me a recommendation? Does the boot run true to size? Or should I spring for the half size up? (US 8.5)

Your help is greatly appreciated.

That didn't help me at all.

I went with my gut and I'm ordering a US size 8 (UK 7.5) because from the small shreds of information I could find, it seems the Church 81 last has a somewhat roomy toe-box and that was my main concern.

Yeah that will probably work. I take 10.5D in Alden 405's on the Trubalance last and boots the Barrie last, Jack Purcell Converse, and Clarks Desert boots. I ordered 10F UK for my Ryders and they fit very good. I did the same thing when I ordered the Islays; 10E UK for those boots.

If you were an 8, the 7.5 should be good I would think, but it all depends on how you like/think your shoes should fit. It's very hard to know without trying shoes on, or getting sized up properly.

Think you might be ok there. Mine are UK 9.5 in an F and although I don't regard myself as having a wide foot, they can get a little cramped after a while, should really have gone with a 'G' fitting.

You will love them though, superb quality. Just make sure you give them a good spray with a suede protector before taking them outside. I love mine, they just pinch a little after prolonged wear.

Ahh I don't want to hear that they pinch! That makes me worry that I should have gone up a half-size. When they get here next week I'll try them on and give an update. I've worn a chukka before in a regular size 8 and it seemed fine though.

I think I'm just having a lot of anxiety over it because of the price.

Yes, they are pricey but worth it IMO. Get a decent pair of unvarnished show trees too, keeps them in good shape and stretches a touch.

    Hey,

That's awesome! I was wondering, where did you buy your pair from? They're very difficult to find, even online, and I'm from Canada.

The only site that I found that seemed genuine enough was "herringshoes", out of the u.k. Thy retailed for the equivalent of 580 cdn,but they added an obscene VAT rate of about 30%!!! It would have come to about 800 for me. I don't think so!

A day later, I got an eBay notification about a pair in the states. Perfect for me, I'm a size US 11, and were UK 10, so 10.5 US, which is still fine. Barely worn, they had the box and everything. I placed my final bid within the last 10 seconds, but the other bidder came back at about 2 seconds left. They were lucky to get them for about $250!!!

I was disappointed after that, and am still looking for a pair. Sounds like to wider size G is better than the F? The ones I was looking at were F, and I have narrow feet, so I figured I would be alright. I would wear them a lot, and would want a cramped fit.

Thanks for your help on this,

    Tyler

I got the normal F fit which is working out fantastic for me, I enjoy a little more snugness in my shoes. But I ordered mine from herringshoes because the VAT doesn't affect me. I'd say take your normal shoe size or a half size up if you want a bit more room.

    Hey,

Thanks for getting back to me about this, I appreciate it as it helps give me an idea of the fit of the ryder 3's. I'll probably continue looking on eBay or other online stores.

    Wear them well!

    Enjoy,

    Tyler

    Hey guys,

Could anyone advise on how these fit in comparison to C&J?

I have the C&J islays in 8.5uk and they are a perfect fit! I'm unsure whether to order these in a 8.5 or a 9.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thankyou Don!

I am usually a uk 9, I just sized down half a size for the islays.

Does anyone else have any input on this?
